Huge run.. Would have had to be a magician to get him into the clear, dead ends everywhere. If Avdulla wasn't there and KOK could have followed the winner through it would have been very close.

The winner had KK covered all the way was never gonna beat the fav even if it did get out winner is lengths better than KK
Agree that the winner is a a star but if you change the runs KOK wins
    That's a piss take surely???

Suspension: 31-10-2015 Flemington 7 - 3 Kia Ora Koutou - Joseph Azzopardi -suspended 12 meetings

Can anyone explain how this suspension will be handled in WA? ie. how many days does 12 meetings equate too?

J.Azzopardi will be peeved if this works out to more than 3 weeks.

I imagine it works exactly how it states....12 meetings regardless where he goes.

imagine he'll be back in WA tomorrow so Albany would be #1 of 12.

    I stand corrected.

Yes and I defeat Usain Bolt at my next start.

Nothing would have beaten that winner. Take off the rose coloured glasses. KOK was smashed, the only thing a better run would have done is cut back the margin to 2nd....

If you look at the suspension the stewards report specifies dates. In his case from midnight 3rd November until midnight 13th November.l

thanks @tony  - 12 meetings in Vic in that period - only 8? in WA. Stipes were kind to him then?

Massive run the local horse winner is a star Adam has to stop taking his mates over to ride and use a Melb jock

Regardless of all that happened, I think it was still a pretty good effort to go over there and run 3rd, good on them for having a crack and far, far from disgraced. I agree that the horse seemed better than the jockey but he is a young lad who will be better for the experience. Could be a very nice 4YO.

I reckon the spring next year...

memo to Adam....tee up a local jockey.

err, what will that 3rd do to his rating here?

    carey???

at best it finishes a closer 3rd, he is a kid learning his trade, maybe he shouldn't still be learning in a Gr 1. Thought he was lucky to only get 10 days

I was absolutely pasted on twitter post race. All I suggested was that it would have been nice to see what an experienced jockey on.

I don't think Kia beats the winner who was dominant but you never know.

I basically said the above in 140 characters or less and I'm getting the likes of Mitchy Pateman, Aaron Mitchell & a host of trainers potting me. Telling me the only way for young riders to get experience is to ride in these type of races.

I'm often an opinionated dickhead but I'm pretty firm on these opportunities coming around very rarely and utilizing every beneficiary you can. This isn't about experience, this is about winning.

No offense to Jo. He was offered the ride and if I was him I would have jumped at it.

All I was trying to promote was a senior in a pressure cooker environment like a G1 like that.

Don't see the necessity at digging into me for saying what 95% of WA thought.

We weren't going to win with Tarzino being so dominant but I would have loved to see a senior vic jock on board.

Yep the first two were dominant-both had their campaigns timed perfectly for that race. KOK should have gone over earlier and had one lead up race just like Plastered did.

It's utterly mad to use a young jock from WA in one of the biggest races of the Spring with a live hope at Flemington! These guys are so seasoned with big races you could see the panic in Joeys riding in the turn when Avdulla blocked him in and he used the horse as a battering ram I'm surprised he only got 12 meeting... Just a side note I don't think the winner could of been beatin.

Plenty of jockeys looked ordinary yesterday including Avdulla himself. Check out his ride on of Under The Louvre in the last race? The fields were like a swarm of bees around that rail-very unlike Flemington and plenty of interference.

horse and Jock will learn from the experience and I'm a massive rap for AD but if he is going to Land majors over East he needs to go local for a jock

They look after their own. As i see it, if you invested $1 and you thought it was a bad ride, you have the right to say what you like!

Making sure short priced favs don't miss the kick would be a good start. Wild Ruby had no chance after 50m

    ^^^ what about hong kong?

    no comparison between the two.

only hope Adam learns his lesson when he ventures over east again with KOK.

interested to know falcon, what would you have had him do in the situation he was in? Lead perhaps? Avdulla gave him absolutely no option but to force his way out... he could have sat there and been disappointed for a run... and run nowhere.... would you have preferred that perhaps?

bit unfair on me, diva.....all I said was echoing what many people have said and that is "get a local jock on your next trip".

one would have thought he would have learned that lesson from mr. moet.

anyway, i'd say the horse is likely to be sold, a lot of money will be thrown at the connections and they would be silly not to take it as the horses future is definitely over east.

I wish the connections...whoever they may be in the future and the horse all the very best.

If this is the best that Adam has trained in his opinion, no way he would sell.

what was unfair? you made a comment, i asked you to qualify by telling what you would have had him do? If it were my horse, I'd be thankful he forced a run that wasnt there and got me third in a Derby instead of 7th or 8th behind a wall of horses.
