Was a good first-up run but just have question marks about the form out of the Pininci race. A few horses looked a bit stiff in the race too. Do agree obviously though that it is a pretty promising galloper.

A few of the progeny of Fath seem to go well on slower tracks. On The Ropes is one of the more recent.

What course of action are the stewards able to do in a situation like this? The connections state that a horse is going to be ridden a certain way (or make an attempt to do so), then the jockey comes out and does exactly the opposite thing. Are eith…

Vital Detail in that race I notice is a half brother to former smart sprinter The Rising. Hop On Hop Off has also been fairly impressive in her two wins. The race looks a fairly good spectacle.

But is there any disadvantage in going to WFA conditions? Surely attracting the best possible field you could get would only add more interest to the race? Then again I've always been of the opinion that there should always be more WFA/Set Weights r…

Actually, I see what you mean. On CRIS it says Crown Lawyer (and Festive Excess) IS a gelding rather than that they have been gelded. I assumed, rightly or wrongly, that this meant they had been gelded since last starting, but the way that they pres…

It was/is on CRIS H-Bomber. Not sure when it went up but it was before racing commenced.

I can't say I've been involved in the ownership of a racehorse myself, but I do know that Reverend Lovejoy was bought for around $6000 from memory, & if you times that number by 1000, then that's pretty close to his career earnings. It was a re…

I am aware by the way that Shane Scriven's horse was subsequently disqualified but my understanding was that this was done at a later enquiry. So obviously correct weight was called at the time.
-
What about instances then such as the Shane Scriven incident in Queensland where he took a rival rider's whip at about the 100m line, with Scriven's horse just beating the other into second? Should that have been grounds for a protest? Would/shoul…

A hat-trick doesn't have to be three goals in a row Tivers.

Excuse my ignorance on this topic, but is there any reason why midweek meetings couldn't be run on the inside track used for trials. Obviously this wouldn't be an ideal scenario from a viewing perspective but would it alleviate pressure on the main …

Pretty chuffed with one I got through this week. RAM JAM, by BLACKfriars out of Nurse BETTY Just noticed this one to run at Bunbury today. Very well named.

Whilst realising that more important reasons to changing the set-up or location of the mounting enclosure have been pointed out, it has always seemed a little different in the way things are done at Ascot in that horses/jockeys etc come out onto the…

Yeah.. would be hard enough in itself to pick eight winners in a row even if you could just isolate the races you wished to select a runner in. Would certainly get won at some stage but there would be many frustrations along the way. Not knocking th…

Okay.. purely as a hypothetical question to a degree because of the aforementioned points, and also as a slightly different way of putting things, but what would people suggest if a new racecourse or major upgrade to a racetrack was to occur both in…

The money on Darlington Abbey could possibly somehow be attributed also to the drift of the early favourite Samakaray. Can't remember the exact fluctuations on this horse but it lengthened in price quite dramatically and too much for it just to be i…

Fair point Jonesee and I didn't have the chance to monitor Betfair closely on this event. However once the momentum starts on either a drifter or a shortener on Betfair it can look alarming but the result of the race is not always indicative of the …

A couple of points to make here. Firstly surely Rouge Dior opened and then drifted to a price that was way over the odds. For a horse with an outstanding record at the 1000m it looked like a clear third pick in the market with it's starting price cl…

Just my opinion Jonesee but don't think that was the problem. Think we'll find Settle Strada had or has some kind of problem/issue that caused the bad run which certainly wasn't up to the level it can perform to. David Harrison consistently produces…

Think $7 mark might be a bit generous for Regal Romp H-Bomber. Will be happy (or unhappy if it doesn't win) to be proved wrong though!

Apologies if this has been covered but couldn't find mention of it. What happens if one of your selections is scratched after you have submitted your entry?

The Durrant stable have had a bad run lately. Wasn't long ago that they also lost Just Wicked, another very promising galloper.

Carey... respect your opinion on all topics on these forums- disagree with some opinions, agree with probably most. But when it comes to The Boss, couldn't possibly agree with you more. The man is the greatest singer/songwriter/performer I have eve…

There seems to be a lot of conjecture that the Stewards Enquiry of a couple of years ago??, and the controversy on that occasion when they took the race off of the horse that crossed the line first (Buena Vista), possibly has affected the decision o…

Without thinking about it too much... at that distance, assuming they are racing at the top of their form would probably go as follows: 1st Northerly 2nd Starstruck 3rd Old Comrade 4th Beaux Art Lords Ransom the roughie

Isn't Danerip the dam of Danny Rip? Or is there another?

I do not claim to be an expert on Orfevre, but to me his tendency to not win races seems to be a mental issue rather than a lack of staying ability. If you haven't seen it, take a look at the running of this years "Hanshin Daishoten" over approximat…

It is on GEM. But as you say it is advertised on CH9.
