Classy WA filly Tuscan Queen might have run her last race.
Tuscan Queen won both the WA Oaks and WATC Derby (2400m) in recent weeks but the Fastnet Rock filly has sustained a tendon injury.
Perth broadcaster TAB Radio reported Tuscan Queen has a tear in a deep flexor tendon, which requires a minimum of 12 months off the scene.
Racing and Wagering WA journalist Julio Santarelli reported the extent of the damage was discovered when vets operated on the three-year-old.
Vets initially treated Tuscan Queen with ice and anti-inflammatory medication but the problem failed to settle, which prompted the surgery.
Owner Bob Peters had the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups in mind for Tuscan Queen in the spring.
TAB had Tuscan Queen as a $26 chance in Caulfield Cup betting.

CASEY ISABELLA won at Northam last night and the ownership of the horse is interesting being down as R. Myers.Surely this isn't the same Myers that served a considerable prison sentence over the organizing of an alleged assault of a racing steward…

If there is a problem with her I think she is in the best of hands with Alana & Grant. They live for the horses and if there is a problem it will be looked after in the best interest for the horse. Lets hope that when the horse is scanned the in…

Ah Will, proving once again that Jockeys are some of the worst judges going around! Maybe it wasn't his decision.

Rex - would that be Hayton Brain? Very speedy customer if I remember correctly. Yes he was a very handy type and would have won a lot more races if he could ever draw a decent barrier.

This is one of my favourite races. I owned a handy little horse that started 3 times in this race at Northam and won twice and finished third in the other.

THE WILD, WILD WEST Nov 30 Posted by Weekend King Racing By the 1980s, racing in Western Australia had descended into what appeared to be an almost lawless state and was commonly known in racing circles as the ‘Wild West’. George …

Most greyhounds are trained on a 50/50 stakemoney basis (no training fees). Some trainers still take training fees but if you are going to spend $5k a year on training fees you are probably better of spending an extra $5k on the purchase price to g…

Drive past everyday LLS and that is the feel I get for the place. I think it is the intelligent way to go about racing for all codes. Provide enough for your normal expected crowd and then for the big events bring in the temporary marquees. Looking…

Williams or Durant would have only copped a fine because they have the backing of the biggest owner in the state, plain and simple, ....... Small trainer = big penalty, BIG trainer = slap on the wrist I think 12 months for 2 positives to caffeine …

Might have to wait a while to find out.Harnessweb maintains that status. No Stewards report up for Bunbury (let alone GP Friday) yet. I can't see how they would stand him down till 12th December, maybe 7 days.
