Just the 12 runners for this race - will wait for TAB Sportsbet to put a market up but anticipating that Delta Gee, Admiring and Brava Fortune will be fighting it out for favoritism from Cassandara Shadow, Full Moon and Jewelled - hard to see anything else figuring.

    Brava Fortune for me, great run last start giving a lot of weight to 1st/2nd, level weights here and seems to have improved as the distances got longer.

    3 of last 4 winners have come from barrier 1 with William Pike riding the last two of them, favorites also have a very high strike rate of success.

    Looking at the history of this race, the field dropped off since year 2000. None of the winners since have done anything, Honor Lap went on to win the Derby but that was it. Superior Star, can hardly remember this horse?
    Royal Drive, Westerly Breeze, and you wonder why this race is only group 3 status.

    I like the turn of foot of Delta Gee. Brava Fortune just seems to be plugging away and I feel will be left behind again when the sprint goes on

    im fairly confident Dell's 3 predicted favourites will definitely trifecta the race..Brava/Delta/Admiring boxed.

    Reckon Brava might win it though...

    Nothing that finished behind Delta and Admiring in the Natasha will finish in front of them in the Oaks ,Grant stable quinella and maybe the Zabeel filly Jewelled from Durrants stable but hard to see her winning a Bunbury maiden then onto an Oaks but will run the trip and is trained by ADurrant i dont rckon its a bad Oaks to be honest 4/5 chances on paper last few years there has only been 2 in the market .

    I was impressed with Delta Gees turn of foot last start.

    Jewelled is the interesting runner however. Both of her runs have been excellent and she is a magnificent looking horse (to my untrained eye anyway).

    Does anyone know if her prep has always been targetted this way or if she was late getting going due to any issues?

    Being by Zabeel you would think they have looked at Oaks/Derby but have cut if very fine 3rd up in an Oaks mmmmmm

    If Delta is ok and hasn't missed too much work etc (from the dog attack) she will win untouched.

    S Star went on and won the Singapore Gold Cup, Laurie Laxon says it was one of the better stayers he has prepared.

    What about Full Moon? If she makes it to WA in decent fettle, she might be in the mix. Beat Berlioz at Bendigo and that one performed nicely in the Melvista. Surely a strong formline here against same sex???

    On that, she is a good chance, my only issue is that she carried 2.5kgs less than Berlioz and only just held on over 2200m - but she should be thereabouts without doubt!

    I'd better put my hand up as the one who picked Miss El Guerrouj on the poll.

    Mainly the SOD connection with fillies, first prep and has had a run over a distance now. Not far behind some handy horses previously.

    Looking at it, really clutching at straws trying to find a reason.

    Will be backing Brava Fortune, with a little saver on MEG.

    It appeared as though Brava Fortune may have run in and contacted Jewelled to cause the fall. I'm wondering if Cassandara Shadow caused it by laying in. I hope the horses and riders are ok.
