Bruce Watkins has already stated he may target El Presidente for this race on Saturday. Should be a good chance.

History shows the lightly weighted horses are best suited in this race with horses carrying 53.5kg or less winning 9 of the last 10 runnings.

    beat the storm
  • lets hope 2 things

    1) it doesn't draw 1
    2) there is no team riding

Beat The Storm hasnt drawn one - I think it may have the job ahead beating El Presidente who I rate as the top chance on the limit weight.

hard to beat from 3 alley. just want to hope a 100/1 shot thats drawn 15 or 16 flies across and carves the field up, could end up 5th fence or 3rd last spat out the back
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
I doubt there will be 15 runners - Friars Touch and Calico Blue should both stay in the field - I dont think Turner will risk moving to the fence

WRC ran a beauty last start drawn the ri ver and it will go close again but what about El Presidente drawn and weighted to win i reckon is a LIVING SPECIAL IF RIDDEN RIGHT !

  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts

Royal Lott at his very best could give this a shake at cricket score odds.
  • MightAndPowerMightAndPower    4,148 posts
few good chances as stated by a few ,im going to plump for calico blue at the value,if she gets some luck from inside draw will be in the mix im almost certain..El hardest to beat.Beat the storm is going to continue to find it tough conceding so much weight to most of the field imo.
Wonder how many will pull out and wait til lee steere stakes run saturday week? new spice has gone that way obviously....

If they put up 4.50 El Presidente I
recon you would want to be quick or
    miss out.

You would be killed in the rush. Will be 2.80 to 3.20. imo

i'll take that $4 Gom if you're offering:)
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
me too, has it firmed in from $4.50?
  • TiversTivers    7,720 posts
There's not actually a price up anywhere yet is there ?
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
GOM is betting $4.50 apparently
  • TiversTivers    7,720 posts
Yeah.......thought so. Unlike TAB to have any prices up for a WA race yet !!! ;)

How do I grab some of GOM's $4.50 anyway..........Was in Melbourne last week and just now catching up on last weeks Ascot results (saw the time El P ran !!!)

Mind you he is right in that $2.80 / $3 is a bit shy.......$4.50 is a gift though ! (especially if you can get $2 or near for the e/w hedge).
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
I think GOM is feverishly doing the paperwork to get his bookies license so he can clean us all up!
  • TiversTivers    7,720 posts
Will guarantee you WRC will NOT win this race !!!
  • HitmanHitman    146 posts
    4.00 el pres.
    Not far off GOM.
    Im happy to take that.

DO TAB Sportsbet get their market from you ?? :D
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
TAB foolishly bet $5 - that didnt last - smart cookies snapped it up quickly :)
  • mcginty71nzmcginty71nz    195 posts
mmm, yes, I think Royal Lott at odds. each way all day.
  • History shows that 9 of the last 10 winners had 53.5kg or less Mcgints and you are going for 56.5kg and barrier 15 ?!!! mmmm
EP is the value bet at anything over $3.20. Get on and keep getting on.
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
Poll has been added as El Presidente continues to receive support on TABsportsbet into $3.50
  • MightAndPowerMightAndPower    4,148 posts
i know there have been comments before about accuracy or lack thereof re tabform "markets" BUT calico blue $21??
EP being touted as over the line it seems by a few here, big test for him altho im an unabashed fan of the up n comer(not as BIG as rodent of course  ).
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
You must be looking cock-eyed. Calico Blue is at $5.50
  • tonytony    2,436 posts
Della, it is 5.5 but what MP is referring to is in the TABFORM where it is given under the field as 21
