At $3.50 I think its about right now
For the record - my own market to 100%
Beat The Storm $3.00
El Presidente $4.00
Calico Blue $5.00
Zhamenka $15
Upwards Others.
Better than backing BTS or El P outright, and three times the chance of a collect !
Simple maths.......... :)
If you're not a money fan though.......I'm happy to take yours ! :)
PS- I did get better than $4.50 with El Pres - whose a lucky little fella then :D
Bookies e/w odds are fixed at 1/4 odds for the place. I was just working off that, but you're probably right........they wouldn't offer a 1/4 stand alone price, generally (my bookie will give me it though ;))
Am definately going to lay this horse.
I have EP at 5/4 and No1 at 5/2 so you'll get on.
Doubt the toppy can give 5kg to EP and others.
anticipated prices...anyway i was stunned that ep isnt on top of the market...
zhamenka no chance for mine and i agree with the comment on it being a rather pathetic 125 000 race. (royal lott the roughie!)
Company's rules.
it would be great to see the prepost markets especially leading into the carnival...
The main reason is that we can't get off anywhere.
If we want to lay off something we get under-quoted at the track
and Best Bookies only bet us to win a maximum of $5000 per bookie.
When we bet there, the rest usually turn if off or halve our bet.
If it was just the WA punters it would be fine and most of the time we'd win some and loose some. Unfortunately the bigger syndicates in Melb and Syd only bet when they have some inside info and they hammer you when they do. This ok in Syd and Melb because there are many avenues to lay off and reduce the risk. Not so in WA.
Have to like EP at the weights though. Don't mind Zhamenka, back only 100m and down 7kgs (although up in class). Has the runs on the board, however was beaten by EP earlier in the year at Bunbury over 1400m. 4 starts at the trip, never unplaced and 3 runs at Ascot for 1x1st and 2x2nds.
Whilst the race may be lacking from the last few features sprints, it is bringing some good form from different classes together, so should still be an interesting race.
For mine, think I'll go with EP from BTS and Zhamenka (8.1.11)

As pray to goodness whoever set that market retains there job.
