Hope I'm wrong and she finishes up being a Sunline...imagine it Cox Plate and the commentator to the world gets the p mixed up with a t .
No doubt
when he popped off the bowling green to have a listen he would have been
grinning from ear to ear. Hope he never headed back before hearing the numbers ;-)
He will no doubt be a tad peeved.

not sure you are 100% right there the trainer would advise that he only has one set of colours then it is up to the race club to ensure that one wears the club colours and and should be checking that prior to them going out onto the track that everything is correct thanking this is an administrative mistake
same as red hots the lower of stablemates with same colours usually is the one changed. Pretty sure some official has as Rio says fugged up not DMac though you should never ass-u-me i guess and that looks the case here on someone elses mistake

Looks like stewards have tried to sweep this under the carpet. Whenever the club colours are used it is noted in the report and somebody cops a $50 fine for having to use them. No mention this time.
As we know standard practice should have been for Stirling Estate to wear an alternative cap to the stablemate as it had the higher saddlecloth number. I assume Grieve only had one set of silks with him so the club colours had to be worn. Not sure what the rule is but I imagine Stirling Estate rather Copper Fury was the one who was meant to wear them.
A comedy of errors with D Mac putting the icing on the cake.
