With the success of WA horses outside of WA at the moment, got me thinking what is the program for BHB? He won that trial fairly easily against Dawn approach and looking back at his last prep beat everything here. I see he is $17 for the Stradbroke a month away.......what is the lead up?

It took me a while last prep, but I'm a beleiver.

Goodwood he just wins & then Stradbroke which I also think he will win.

I hope he wins everything by a clear margin, otherwise you guys will feel sick and I will feel like I dodged a bullet offering $750,000 neat, which equates to $1M in stakes earnings in round numbers.

The thing about the Goodwood, it has become a better race than several years ago when it was regarded as one of the easier Group 1 races in Australia. Black Heart Bart will have to run higher than his current rating I believe, to win this year's edition.

Goodwood yes, he's  a huge chance in that but in the Stradbroke he would bump into a very, very, good horse in Our Boy Malacchi. Win the Goodwood then spell with the spring carnival in mind would be my intention if I owned him.

Srikandi is machine!! Has her name on the Straddy cup already IMHO

In my opinion Legless I would hate to see what Our Boy Malacchi would have done to that field that Srikandi beat at the Gold Coast.

No doubt they will meet AC and then we will know ;)

With the weather Qld has been coping lately it'd take a month for those tracks to dry if they got no more rain which we know won't happen.  Be risky to send him there to possibly cop a heavy 9 or 10.  Goodwood then spell ready for the Spring would be a sound option.  Could even come back here to run in the Belmont Sprint after Adelaide if they wanted to give him a couple of runs before a spell.

As much as I am a fan of our Our Boy Malachi he would have to be a risk at 1400m in a fast run Stradbroke could easily see Bart coming home over the top of him.

Our horse will win the Stradbroke if she goes there!

She's an out an out group 1 horse if she strikes a wet track.
  • thefalconthefalcon    20,483 posts
    whos that?

Bring me the maid. If she was certain to go there she would be clear favourite.

I'm a massive BHB fan and I will be backing him at the right price in Adelaide.

:-? to take the $6 on offer now for Srikandi in the Straddy

Damien I saw a horse on Saturday connections paid $850k it was a crab. I was told that heorshe would have beat it by 20L. So 1 million for BHB is nothing. That horse was a 5 YO. They have a massive opinion on heorshe maybe you should have made an offer for him or her.

I see she is going around Saturday at Doomben. By "certain" do you mean "if good enough"

    I missed the run

Missed the kick. Ended up in a prick of a spot. Got out but had to much ground to make up. My guess is he runs the fastest last 600.

I've missed something in the translation then - not unusual :\">

Why go to Brissy winter carnival and not aim at the straddy?
  • LeglessLegless    5,108 posts

    I missed the run

Not a bad run - actually finished closer than I thought he would. Held his own in a not too bad field - no superstars amongst them but probably the strongest field he has come up against

I thought it was a great run considering he probably got a bit too far back and had a bit of traffic to get through, plus he had to come wide too. Made up a lot of ground later to get 4th. I reckon they should go to the Stradbroke. He'd probably get roughly the same weight in the Stradbroke as he did in the Goodwood.

How can you take anything away from the 3 in front of him?
First 2 came from the river , barriers 15 & 16 - BHB basically had his nose on the 3rd horses tail the trip. BHB went wide the other horse got caught up in the ruck and still beat him home for third :-?
