WHAT A FILLY.......... Pike simply out rode mr harvey
  • great ride on the winner, even though Harves was 3 deep I reckon he should have been closer at the 800, 3 deep and going fwd.

Yuro the best run by a mile. Pike's was a 10/10 ride. If Harvey showed the same urgency out of the gate that he did in the Melvista, Yuro wins. Harvey didn't want to fire him up, gambled and rolled snake eyes getting posted throughout.

BEST HORSE lost without doubt, which is a tragedy for connections.....went better than one of mine tho...had some on famous roman.......ran a nice race(albeit riderless) til it hurdled the outside fence :P

very poor ride pj harvey against an absolute peach by pikey--as from today i am rating them dead equal and its taken me a long long time to get pikey up to that level.

i think the boogy man scared claite when they jumped ! horse i hear is ok ...bit sore but going for a spell ..
  • Capuchin was no hope, was lay of the day. 1200m it was never going to win.

Yuro IMO just should have been off and running before he was, 3 deep didnt beat it, the other horse just sprinted too quick, Harves being the best should have been more aware. Think maybe he thought Yuro would sprint quicker.

Harves is BACK, mark my words

I heard J Claites new name is Betfair Johnny
  • this is the thing with riding with their toes in only, looked to me the horse ducked on jumping.I cant see the point in toes in, to do it correctly you cant kick and if a horse dips Bang they are off.

The best in the World doesn't ride with his toes in

instructions to Paul before the race. "Dominic says the fence is the place to be, we dont care if you have to lead but get on the fence" Sounds like Willie rode to Yuros Managers instructions.

Then to top it all off after the race in the bookies ring, The Manager was yelling to the Owner with the $ "told you not to give the horse to a mug, how we meant to win a Derby with a mug training.

Who is the Mug? its not R G Turrell.

Think the horse will be with another trainer next preparation, stay tuned.

Only problem is that there were probably a dozen or so jockeys who were told to get to the fence no matter what.

Bit tough on the poor trainer--but for an ounce of luck in running he wins easily. Some people are pratts.

What the hell as Bobby Turrell done wrong ,he couldnt have produced a fitter horse we all no what the problem was -THE RIDER ! DOESNT LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS HE BELIEVES HE IS ABOVE THAT I MEAN 4 DEEP FROM BARRIER 6/7 STOP WORRYING ABOUT WERE W PIKE IS AND DO THE BEST FOR CONNECTIONS PJH .This horse will be competetive on the East Coast i have no doubt i think Bobby Turrell is a bit stiff if another local trainer picks the horse up .

Dungy always followed instructions when he was riding man he could ride good
  • was a Huge cheer squad at the races for Yuro, movie actors, movie directors, even the strapper had a new suit on, (was a touch tight on him)being superstitious it was bad sign.

  • All in all it was a great race, horse with the best run won, I saw Yuro yesterday and you wouldnt have even thought he had gone around, looked as bright as a button as did the strapper and Robbity Bob.
