I noted john size said he would never put kids on a horse that could win he rather the weight so my question is y do these trainers keep putting kids on winning hopes for sake of 3kg to see them get hacked up.I notice a horse in race 3 on saturday morton stable.I liked alot of tapes last start and then u look at jockey and u go y.Do THEY NOT WANT BEST CHANCE FOR HORSE TO WIN A RACE.

Correct me if im wrong but im sure it was Mick Price who said "sometimes claiming 3kg's is like gaining 3kg's" , too true.
and putting Newitt on is even worse, sometimes

I disagree that P. King is the worst, and that stat is a little misleading.
    P. King will ride any horse, and I think you may find a significant number of those rides had very little hope in the race. I would be interested to see how many started at 25/1 or longer.
Nothing precious about The Duck, there should be more hoops like him.

P Harvey and Alex Hearn to be the best - kid will be a star

....if he keeps focused and has a strong mentor he has a very bright future.

Top 5 Jockeys (J Brown) - Please, on what planet. P Harvey even this late in his career is still daylight ahead. His ability to judge tempo/pace and pick one up and get them over the line is uncanny.

    Thereafter,

Noske, the up and coming P Harvey, what he has been able to achieve on the support of primarily smaller stables speaks volumes

Knuckey, Smarter than the average bear and tactically very astute.

Pike, gets the best rides, but generally gets the job done

C Harvey, Group 1 winning jock, who rides with his heart on his sleeve, doesn't ride the same one dimensional race 90% of the others ride week in, week out. This guy is a super jock, distractions aside with the right support he is as good as any on his day

Apprentices - Surprised Jerry Noske didn't warrant a mention, on what she has done in the past twelve months I think she is certainly the up and coming apprentice. Getting more support and better horses every week now.

Nothing previous about The Duck, there should be more hoops like him.
so this is king's prime metro standard races(the northam one was probably their cup or something, and thus metro standard) for the previous 365 days.........
TAB column is how much the neddy was paying on supertab.
    Rnk column is finish possy

That Stat was from a long time ago
Funniest think I have seen on a racetrack couple regular punters walking round the betting ring with a cardboard sign
The Duck 100 losers in a row !

    he has.
strike rate is a nonsensical way to enumerate a rider's ability.
when i first started doing wa, he was one of their best.

I am tipping that Barakey is probably the best horse to ever grace our local tracks.
How good will he be when they get that lump off his back.

wait until he meets the boys and girls over east, darkhorse.

that lump on his back is an inherited condition, an immoveable object...

with that trainer it is generally pretty good anyway.....but shy away from him on anyone elses horses!!
  • HenleyBrookHenleyBrook    408 posts

So Paul King is supposed to upgrade peoples horses as soon as he jumps on? My gosh.... statistically he looks woeful, but for the riding fee you get for going around, it is a quick way of earning $100. Put him on an odds on favourite which has a white picket fence record and I guarantee he will give it every chance.

The most frustrating Jockeys to back would be Staples and Shooter....Top blokes but!
