don't you only frequent the carpark anyway?
If that bloke at the pub on a Friday night puts his $50 on Sports and not racing Damien - that is the first sign of the racing code sinking!
You only need look at the stats about where the punting dollar is going and sports is killing racing. Why???
In saying that, if Betfair can't (or don't see the need) to continue to operate under the new operational costs, then maybe their business model wasn't going to survive anyway!
You can't contribute (to sponsorship in this state) when the guys running the show won't talk to you!
Although, if they stop operating on our racing codse, it reminds me of the phrase 'cut off your nose to spite your face'.
is only a week or two since they announced increased commission to cover
industry charges following the High Court ruling.
So to hell with them, I will drive the miserable bastards to the airport myself if required.
They just need to figure out how to make it profitable and keep their customers happy.
they do contribute, AND, turnover will be higher generally on the tabs because of bet backs and so forth.
you can apply your argument to the corporates too, but i just happen to know that along with certain betting syndicates they are actually the biggest contributors to tab turnover.
so be very careful what you wish for.
anyway i have no idea where bc found that but i think tony is correct.
have recently done deals in Italy and Germany
BEING TOLD THE RUMOUR IS INCORRECT NOW
someone was stirring the pot i think
Here is an example. This Friday nights match between Melbourne and Hawthorn have prices like this.
Player:
Melbourne $12.50
Hawks $1.02
Betfair;
Melbourne $17
Hawks $1.06
Now, as a punter, why would you be loyal?
