Mekong Miss would need a rocket up its rear if Set For Fame makes the trip and even then it wouldnt blow wind up it.
  • was interesting that Mekong Miss managed to drop a point off her handicap rating for running 4th beaten a long nk - no other horse lost any ratings points

i was just about to launch into a scathing rant re your handicappers over there, but thought i best check first!!!

it kept same rating, it went from 97 to 96 after previous run, not this time.
it would not have surprised me though as there are many instances of that type of thing and worse happening.

but what about this for mind boggling stupidity.....m96/c0.
the ratings were brought in to simplify, but those dills in charge of handicapping in wa need to complicate it, by having two ratings.
if they had half a clue about handicapping this would not be needed in the first place.
mr hunter.....just rate the horses friggen correctly in the first place and you don''t need to resort to this stupidity.

the relative ability of horses is going to stay the same no matter where they bloody well race.
first you guys stuff it up completely by not properly differentiating between jurisdictions, and then instead of doing the smart thing and classing the races correctly, they decide to have two ratings to try and compensate for this.

surely, handicappers in wa don't get paid much do they????
something about you get what you pay for.

Looking forward to attending my first Railway Stakes meeting in November. The Mrs has also got me going to Indijup afterwards though. Anyone know what Indijup is like?

good fishing and wineries down there - sure you can find something to do other than spa

Your telling me Trivers. A spa retreat sounds about as much fun as the time when I passed a couple of Kidney stones.

Indijup is a cross between India and Jupiter.

Plenty of plantations yet lots of space.

You said was near Margaret River.
One almighty cast to get your line wet in the ocean from there.

Looking on the map though - Injidup (not Indijup) is on the coast yes.
Will pay that then. Salmon tackle instreat of trout then Jakester.

COLOUR CORRECT - looks on target
GOD HAS SPOKEN - top run, looks a leading Kingston Town/Perth Cup contender
    INARTICULATE - excellent run
MEKONG MISS - 1600m looks too far
    MORANT - needs some improvement
ELLIOTTO - outside chance if goes that way
    CLUELESS ANGEL - needs improvement
MIGHTY ROSSA - should be racing in weaker
    KENS DOUBLE - spell
MEGA STEEL - not good enough
    ALMOHAD - Perth Cup
SIR HALLOWELL - gone, has problems

RAILWAY WILL BE WON BY EASTERN STATES RAIDER, WINTERBOTTOM , MIGHT BE WON BY A LOCAL
  • goosegoose    1,638 posts
Thinking Colour Correct is only local hope for Railway God Has Spoken very hard horse to follow produces huge runs over summer and cant win welters other times of the year I wont be cheering for him.
  • i think you are getting God Has Spoken mixed up with some other horse - which are the welters it hasnt won?
  • goosegoose    1,638 posts
Yes probably being a bit harsh but has let me down in the past when I had high expectations of him couldnt beat home Four Floors and Campobella one day last year needs race run to suit.
  • snipersniper    236 posts
Colour correct is a good thing in the Railway, can tramp deep and still run on, also likeing God Has Spoken. Going to be a fabulous Railway, but I think the locals will have it this year.

The main contenders (besides CC and GHS) will be stepping out this week.
Wouldn't be using Saturday's race as your main / only form guide.
  • darkshinesdarkshines    2,837 posts
Local contenders thin on ground, only legit chances I can list starting this week are Grand Nirvana, Tarzi, Famous Roman and Megatic.

CC all day every day for mine against these and the Asian Beau runners. CC is a good chance to go for the bonus (does it still exist?), my mail is thats the plan to continue to the longer ones (Railway-KT-Cox).

Only way a horse with his attributes can win a Railway IMHO is with a miracle rails run through field. Don't think he's got the tank to sustain a wider run from back as you need to do at Ascot.

    Needs A Kennedy back on.
