The one that still amazes and recall race caller the late Max Simmonds being dead set against it too - doesn’t bother me because don’t bet these a place - but the $1 money back return on the place bet - “congratulations” says Tabcorp “your ticket is…
-
I’m of the same ilk there BL knew the tote was going downhill but didn’t realise the acceleration - recall a race on a Wednesday ( good punting day ) moving into the barrier at Ipswich or one of those places and there was something like $900 in the …

At least Idyllic Ruler ran right up to his trial - horrible! Something not quite right there, 5/1 to 8/1 not a cracker for him and after blowing the start ran accordingly. The jury is out on him - no they’ve come back in - guilty!
-
Just the one for me today and agreeing with AI that’s a worry, if see the trial it was fair dinkum awful - however will take on trust Jim Taylor a very astute trainer, he’s won and been placed many races by utilising the 3kg claimer - race 6 each wa…

Went against a cardinal rule in punting and it’s rule number one - under no circumstances never let a stable mate run against you, He’s a leading trainer Steve Wolfe yet the amount of roughies he wins with is remarkable. Sir Bear A Lot chocolat…
-
Just 3 bets today and two of them in the same event. Race 6 - gone each way more the place on Sir Bear A Lot won well the other day when fresh and in 5 runs second up has never missed a place, not super confident just the same but am on. Race 7 …

^^That’s a great show. Harvey Deegan one of the best, always good to listen to.
-
The bets are on. Race 4 e/w Slick was quite impressed with the Pinjarra maiden win although the second horse was beaten out of a place when an odds on favourite at Bunbury the other day. That’s a worry but was a bit of an x-factor win by Slick. …

^^Absolutely…might be a rule in now can’t race after 12 yrs of age too. Sari Twig was a similar age and Magistrate winning two Perth Cups 81, 82 at 9 and 10. They’re a very select lot.
-
The interesting runner is former Victorian Tosen Impact - a battling type who can stick on in his races, no word beater can assure but he might not have to be to beat this lot. Very one paced when I’ve seen it go around. Good luck to former hoop T…
-
Just on replays - even in 2026 it’s still the one of the best ways if have the time to study them. Was reading recently how one guy watches the race teplay twice for an overall picture and then in between even if there’s 16 horses in it he will wa…

Might be calls for a cut away rail now! However and only opinion based it’s one of the rare things have disliked about horse racing - the cut away rail, count me out on them. Recall a day at Bunbury whereby one hoop used the cut away to perfecti…
-
Sky Duke - yes race 8, number 8 and barrier 8….they were betting 8/1 that it would run 8th….and…it ran…9th.
-
Went 2/3 on the knocks - not too bad but like my old school reports - can do better. Very impressed with Amazing Cheat no knock on Filthy Habits, Forever Boy and Rocking Society but if they can run 2, 3 and 4 in a Perth Cup then think she can play…
-
Something a little different - I’m going to lay three favourites today - let’s see them now all win. Race 3 - Ain’t No Other Man - a chance but too short for mine around the 5/2 mark. Race 6 - Heeza Phoenix - nice horse but 6/4 and awkward gate …

Very good effort Wayne The Pain wins in store this preparation. Mavis Myrtle just needs it weaker a hell of a lot weaker!
-
Well done Slip - Makwell Smart good effort too kept on going for a $74 quinella…a bit unlucky may have been got at…KAOS seen on course 8-|
-
A couple of rough ones looking at in race 4 were Wayne The Pain and Mavis Myrtle! Wayne’s first up record not the best though and Mavis a quintessential battler. I’ll go small e/w both.
-
Race 3 each way #3 - Makwell Smart. Thought when won at Moora um yes Moora was quite impressive then 4th in town at 100/1 was a good effort too, trialled okay drawn well fingers crossed for a top 3 finish.
-
Will say again just for the record if Natasha Fairhful is not a city class Saturday jockey getting a ride in nearly every race then I’ll walk to China! A winning treble today including the Mungrup Sprint $7.50 and two seconds to bolt the JC in at …

^^ Not an inspiring stat, Albany or bust now for The Spruiker. Steve Wolfe got the winner race before at 33/1 and thought hello also trained the runner up in the last at big odds.
-
*Not a length a nose 13 - 12* Bit unlucky if on Pike at the $2.65 rides the final winner only way to be beaten is if Nottle runs second on an outsider and she does. A deserving winner.
-
Back to Albany think for The Spruiker, can pick up a win there. Royal Gap - Geraldton horse through and through. Very hard to follow that one.
-
Just the 2 bets both in the same race at double figure odds and they’re the two eldest in the field at 7 and 8yrs old. They’re in race 5 - liked his run recently at Albany made up solid ground on the short priced favourite - was a good return to f…

Remember that well because after Prince Of Penzance - was on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th horses in that Cup, and the horse that beat Winx am sure was the one that ran 5th. Max Dynamite was second, and one of the others was a handy horse - Criterion…
-
Yes of course…too true! Remember her losing possibly the Oaks and think J Moreria was the hoop. The horse that beat her finished up running a very creditable and unlucky 5th in a Melbourne Cup to Prince Of Penzance.
-
Only 2 bets for the day and not confident! In the lucky last been a bit out of form this guy, had a good run awhile ago in town, might be the race to get him back on track again - each way Planet Cash and same race a silly rough one each way too …
-
Good to see Ash Maley break a little drought today with Impressive Jewell she has fought back a few times now. Never has much luck at the barrier draw that trainer. Can remember his old grey horse Push To Pass winning the Esperance Cup at double f…

Ah the Sporting Globe can remember that paper came out once a week we could buy it in Perth think perhaps hit the news agency on a Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning had all the track work scribes and information too, they had the photo results…

Slip you would’ve liked that headline from the Daily News in 1987 after Pat Cash defeated Ivan Lendl to win Wimbledon. Cash Beats A Czech. Yes okay fair enough…3 days then went by…oh of course…i get it. Yes especially in 1987 Cash always did b…
