  • So none of you lot in a momentary flash of anger have accidentally slammed a door a fraction too hard if this has occurred as alleged, Give me strength. I don't think it was "accidentally slammed". Kicked in more like it. Anyone else would be charg…
  • Hasn't used anything since 2005....yeah sure thing Lance!!
  • I don't know why this topic has deteriorated into an attack on Graeme Ballantyne, some people don't know when to ease up. I reckon Talent Show has a good chance in a race like the Adelaide Cup. Melbourne is a different matter but good luck to them w…
  • Yep, he does a good job with limited numbers.
  • What a lot of people want to know is - 3 t o4 weeks ago he was seen sitting down talking to Lloyd Rayney. I wonder what they were talking about :O Lloyd Rayney was at the Ascot races Saturday, with a young girlfriend enjoying an afternoon out.
  • If he cannot get a decent stayer from the Aga's mares he will never do so imo. I stand to be corrected but I do not think he has yet had a group winning open age stayer. Does Miss Finland count? She won the 2007 Arrowfield Stud Stakes Group 1 2000m…
  • Well if I listened to people like you I would have missed out on some very nice horses.
  • Sorry but I do not know him all I said was it is very risky buying yearlings and even riskier buying a ex- Lloyd Williams horse or a ex- Bob Peters one as they have tried EVERYTHING to see if a horse can be any good. The ex Bob Peters horse Talent S…
  • That's a bit rude calling Emile a fool. He runs a very successful business and puts a lot of money into racing. It's a shame the horse didn't perform but he would be aware of the risks.
  • Well FFS none of us would ever buy a horse at a yearling sale if we listened to you. Talk about negative.
  • The horse has to be on course 1 hour prior to the race, so a stable rep should be on course also. If connections are not satisfied with the availabe replacement rider/s, they can scratch.
  • Do the stewards have the power to book a rider? Dunno, but they seem to think they have the power to do anything so who knows?
  • I think the point is....was Yuill officially booked on Comfysofa (by the stewards or otherwise)? If she was, then I guess she shouldnt have been taken off regardless of whether Whiting was officially booked on another ride or not. Yuill was not off…
  • It makes good business sense to look after your best clients. After all, they are the ones that pay the big bucks for the service being provided. The major vendors will be a source of revenue for many years to come. I just hope that Magic Millions …
  • Yep, correct
  • Richie is great to listen to, like his sense of humour too.

  • Staying sire "Zabeel" goes okay as a broodmare sire.
  • Would it be fair to say at most sales the big studs get looked after by the auction houses?
  • It will be interesting to see who sends mares to him. Most Australian breeders/owners/trainers don't have the patience required for Melbourne Cups. He is an outstanding type. What broodmare lines would suit??
  • Yes
  • Another local with surprisingly reasonable numbers is Famous Roman, who had 62 mares.
  • The MV race Ollie had his $10k bet was 1.10.10 Her last run was 16.10.10 at Caulfield. Mare was covered 25.10.10 by High Chaparral.
  • Hahaha lot 63 is out of Europa Point. That's the mare Ollie rode when he had his $10,000 bet. You will need big bucks to buy that one.
  • . couldn't agree more BD, tired of reading their constant whining.
  • The result made no difference to my pocket. Scenic11, I hope for your sake you are somehow connected to P.Carbery or the stewards because if not, you should take a trip to Specsavers. You should read the stewards report, the rider said it was laying…
  • Carbery had to stop riding the horse (hands and heels) and straighten it. You are not allowed to keep raining it out if it's not going straight. That would be careless. Stop talking through your pocket.
  • A jockey has an obligation to straighten his mount if it is laying in. He's not allowed to keep hitting it with the whip and lay in and cause interference. If he does, he gets time for being careless. It seems jockeys are damned if they do and damne…
  • I will be looking at yearlings by Onemorenomore, Mastercraftsman and for potential stayers Big Brown
  • The majority of yearling sales buyers are looking for early running 2 yo types also which has not helped some of those stallions. Not many purchasers want to wait 3 years for a return on $$ spent. Some breeds require more patience/time.
  • I have a 100% runners to winners ratio as an owner, and been very lucky. I have had 4 horses that had exceptional ability, and won listed G2 & G1 races. Funny thing is the cheaper horses were the best ones! (And no, I would prefer not to name th…
