The horse has to be on course 1 hour prior to the race, so a stable rep should be on course also. If connections are not satisfied with the availabe replacement rider/s, they can scratch.

It will be interesting to see who sends mares to him. Most Australian breeders/owners/trainers don't have the patience required for Melbourne Cups. He is an outstanding type. What broodmare lines would suit??

Carbery had to stop riding the horse (hands and heels) and straighten it. You are not allowed to keep raining it out if it's not going straight. That would be careless. Stop talking through your pocket.

The majority of yearling sales buyers are looking for early running 2 yo types also which has not helped some of those stallions. Not many purchasers want to wait 3 years for a return on $$ spent. Some breeds require more patience/time.
