    Brett Prebble to ride PG
  • excellent news - Prebble is a gun

hope it can draw a nice gate
  • TheFunksterTheFunkster    3,840 posts
Prebble flying in on Friday and won't jump on before the race. When asked about not riding beforehand he replied "that won't be necessary".... 8)
  • Brad Rawiller is doing the trackwork which is why I thought he would ride but Prebble is a gun - will give it every chance you would expect

Can ride alright no doubt, but is a proven egg

To FRK - thing won't get 2000 and isnt up to group 1

Bullbars and Southern Speed both looked good the other week

Not sure about draw, only time he drew inner here he got beat comfortably, he's always been in moving line and first to pull trigger, seems to be his style.

Getting held up and having to ping from gap might not suit him, but having said that the faster natural tempo of the better grade in this might remove that problem - huge difference to getting locked away in slow tempos set by camels here around the Ascot skating rink. Regardless, I think the pilots brief will be to get off the fence as soon as he can (not that he'd listen to you if you requested that of him  )

Either way, leave me out, I'll just look on and cheer. Granted he has struck the right year to have a crack.

last time he drew gate 1 in a field of 14 he won easily???

Rather draw 3 than 13 thats logic isnt it drawn 3 with one of the best in the world up should be easy pickings for Prebble to get in the one out line

Righto righto, but even then he reefed him out wide at the turn to get out, not sure if you can do that when ones outside you travel as well

    Was referring to this start

  • you cant get a longer run home and wider straight then Flemington - esp compared to Ascot

if the barrier is the main concern then not sure what you are worried about

worried about getting off the fence and a clear run, Flemington is famous for horses not getting runs

Remember PG has already beaten the older horses at WFA.
    Will take him along way.
And Bam Bam is a definite help, one of the few jockeys to ride 5 winners in a day at the flemington carnival

This is Flemington against the Big Boys, not a 1800 at Ascot against 2nd raters

Watched some replays of the Kiwi and saw the work on TVN, spitting image of her old man action wise

Very good trainers, they wouldn't be talking Dubai or HK for nothing. Should dispose of them
