Stewards had earlier opened and adjourned an inquiry into actions by leading reinsman Gary Hall Jr after he finished fifth with $2.90 favourite Spirit Of Shard in the fourth race.
Delaney said stewards would further study videos of an incident about 20m past finishing line.
Evidence was last night taken from Hall and reinsman Nathan Turvey, who ran sixth in the fourth event with Parasite ($6.30).
Hall told stewards he did not hear distinctly when Turvey called to him in the race. He had moved close to Turvey after the event, in order to ask Turvey what he had called.
After last night's meeting, Delaney screened for media representatives a video taken side-on of the post-race incident. It showed Hall swing his right arm across towards Turvey, who was on Hall's left side.
"Before the inquiry resumes, stewards will examine videos which were taken from a number of angles," Delaney said. "We want to clearly see what happened in the incident."
I just watched the replay, amazing to say the least, right after the line Hall took a swipe at Turvey, holiday for sure!

Aidan Warwick got a stint for something similar
Where did you get that news Dungy? I haven't been able to get an update anywhere.

Reinsman Gary Hall Jr yesterday copped a six-week suspension after he was found guilty of attempting to strike Nathan Turvey with his whip after the finish of Friday night's claiming pace at Gloucester Park.
The suspension was effective from midnight, but Hall is certain to appeal. Stewards inquired into Turvey's actions, but did not consider the evidence sufficient to act against him.

That is a weak suspension.
Prededent or not did you think it was suitable?
But as in any legal system, where there is a precedent set for a very similar event, the powers that be don't have much room to increase the penalty for the defendant for a first time offense of that kind of nature.
As if they made a higher penalty for this case, the defendant has a blatant cause for appeal, and one which is hard to argue against.
More to the point, maybe the stewards were too leniant in the first case?
But what can they do now?
For Hall to get 6 weeks is a joke, should have been 6 months
Just out of interest how many ex reinsmen are currently stewards? I know there have been some in the past.
As an on looker and participant in the game, I have come to realize that WA is dominated by a handful of drivers with a clue, that you could only put total confidence with your hard earned on. I have been watching races and replays of driives over the past month and WA is getting worse.
With guys not knowing the opposition and destroying runners, to guys not even running with the basics of rating a horse in front. Classic examples of people leading and letting sit sprinters off their back to get run down in the last stride. It is unreal that people would put themselves in that position.
Good drivers do the hard yards. Get to the track learn the basics even roll to the extent of asking some of the guys who have a clue for some tips or pointers as dont think you are the golden hands of WA harness as you are not.
This will start some comments but i assure you head back, watch some replays and you will agree with 'the trackman"
However, reading between the lines, I can agree with your sentiments in paragraphs three and four.
Gary Hall did exactly that in two group one races and got beaten.
I am a fan of consistant talent across all sports and he has proven that. Are you jealous Chariots??
?Synonyms
alias, nom de plume.
Maybe it is best defined through the finest dictionary, Urban Dictionary, as a 'keyboard warrior.'

I was just pointing out that Gary has done the same thing on occasions but that does not detract from his overall ability and achievements.
All of our top drivers make mistakes from time to time but less on a pro rata basis than the rest.
