Where are the racing journos in WA

I get most of my information from X (Twitter).
Other than TabRadio, I can't see anything on Perth/WA Racing such as updates on the Pinnacles- who is coming across from the east etc etc.
We used to have Julio Santarelli and Jay Rooney regularly posting updates but no longer...
Surely the folks at Perth Racing can provide something, to drum up some interest? It's practically free advertising after all.

If I'm missing something or someone, feel free to let me know who to follow PTT followers. Thank you

    RWWA have an extensive media/public relations team, I think S.Butler is employed there to control and cleanse output, and others who issue press releases on positive swab inquiries etc. But am not sure they have any actual journalists. 

    The West is down to Ernie Manning who writes an awful lot more than the small column inches he is allocated, and Hayden King who is also consigned by RWWA to write the sort of good news puff pieces that we see on occasions. The West allocates very little space to racing/pacing/greyhounds as it is said to be unfashionable. They prefer so called sports such as cage fighting, bashing and maiming, American football, basketball ....stuff that apparently sells? Not to me it don't.

    Surely any one of the individuals mentioned above can put out some one or two sentence tweets to give us some info...
    For example it was mentioned this morning by one of the co-trainers of Mr Brightside that he is a fairly good chance to head over for the Gold Rush.
    If they're not utilising Twitter I reckon they're missing a trick there. It's not hard and it doesn't have to be pretty- just say something

    donuts these days. nothing that Julio use to do is being done, just getting stuff out of trainers during interviews but nothing really being followed up, summarised in a short segment on radio / news.

    only the occasion they feel like doing pre race interviews and beaten jocks, hard to know when it will and won’t happen.

    Farkn hell, looking at the post-race jockeys interviews from today at Ascot...
    Whoever is responsible for the shite we were dished up on Twitter needs to be p!$$ed off real quick. The jockey's faces were mostly cut off!!! Absolutely amateur fair dinkum you guys

    The people doing the interviewing are now also doing the filming from there phone if that makes sence. That is why the camera angle never changes during the interview Before there would be 2 people one to film one to interview. Not sure which genius came up with that idea

    Yes that's the problem... previously there was a second person holding the device but not now.
    If thats how they want to roll, they should have the appropriate hardware to enable the phone to be positioned to get a good outcome. It's not hard

    Are all the after race interviews on 7+ uploaded anywhere, as if you are at the track on the day you miss them & would be worth seeing later. If they are not, I wonder why not.

    can watch them on replay on Racing.com after all races finished, can be a fair wait as it goes in rotation.

    It does look like the long-term industry families are doing their best to keep the racing industry afloat.
     
    The sale of TAB radio is another nail in its coffin. 

    How the government can support the loss of jobs and history that is leaving with their decision to sell, makes no sense. unless they are deliberately trying to sabotage the future of horse racing.

    I reckon there would be no consideration to the loss of history and virtually none to the loss of jobs.

    Thanks but that looks like city only, I want Provincials etc, so if you are trackside on the day you can catch up with the interviews at a later time. I am guessing they are not uploaded, but they should be available for viwing at a later time. Surely on the CRIS site, they could add After race interviews as anoption with Race Replays & Stewards Patrol

    Ah I see. They've never been available as far as I know... only metro

    I am worried about what SEN are going to do with tabradio and I hope they are able to maintain it with majority local content.  If we want to listen to Gareth Hall we already can so if it’s just that simulcast then I will be disappointed.

    But saying that, think whatever you like about Craig Hutchison, he is a very shrewd businessman and if he sees value in purchasing tabradio it’s for a reason.  Everything he touches turns to gold, (he sold his wildcats shares for a huge profit) so if he thinks WA racing industry has value in being involved in I’m backing him over the rest of you on here especially those with massive axes to grind!

    Let’s be real, it’s effectively going to be wind up tabradio (and everyone that’s on there), then it’s effectively replace “welcome in tabradio” to “welcome in sen track” in the race day coverage.

    RWWA get their $$$, money off the books, reduced savings going forward (money muncher apparently?) and Hutchy gets his name plastered over WA Racing broadcasts.

    I didnt mind certain segments of the morning radio show but really it needed a major shake up.

    Some mornings they talked about their own personnel golf game rather than getting someone interesting on.

    To be fair to the radio crew, and as much as I love WA racing, to be fair, there is only so much content you can produce Mon to Friday here, unless it is Pinnacles or Quokka season.

    I do agree with that

    About 25 years ago for a Sea change - i had 4 glorious years down in Southern Tasmania where i was basically pro punting - the horses and trading on the Stock Exchange 

    And the local radio station down their - Colin McNiff the now ex race caller -  he was actually the anchor man in the studio , but every morning re that days racing they would take the Victorian feed - you had Shelley Hancox as the sole host - she would cross to Bill Hutchison each morning the ex Trots bookie - and he would give an in depth preview of every Victorian harness race that day - plus full prices - tips and his quaddie - it would go for about half an hour . Then Ray Huxley would do exactly the same for the Vic Provincial gallops meeting 

    I thought it was excellent  and listened to it every day , it was an in depth preview of every race - with likely prices and tips , no smart aarse rubbish and nonsense
