Money speaks all languages when it comes to the AFL.
The hottest month of the year….the hottest time of the day….the two hottest states….lets schedule the Eagles to kick off the season for the first 3 rounds in those conditions.
Absolute rubbish. No consideration for player welfare or spectator welfare.
Full sun in the middle of winter is hot enough at Optus let alone 3.00pm mid March at Optus.
F*** you AFL.

I watched the first half, geelong looked desperate as though their jobs depended on it. On the other hand, freo  were just going through the motions, as though they did not give a sh1t.
I dont  go for either team.

Same for me. I don't care for either team but one of them looked like they needed to win

Can someone tell me why the AFL schedules games in the hottest states at the hottest part of the day in the hottest month of the year ?

The VFL does not care about West Australian or SA football, they only care about big Victorian clubs.

Despite the rhetoric from some senior players during the week Carlton played like a team begging for their coach to be sacked. The insipid effort was very similar to the Dockers performance against St Kilda in round 8.

Good gig for Trent, Chariots.... if he is completely stark raving mad bonkas. Such lovely people disenchanted Carlton supporters, always calm and measured in their responses when they lose, a pleasure to be around. :))

It appears that the drastic reduction in AFL content on the forum has coincided with the Eagles on field performance.
Surely there are some green shoots appearing.
On the other hand the Dockers best would have them deep into September action and their worst would see them go out in striaght sets.

18th August 1966 Australia's best 18 were killed at Long Tan oldest was 22.Gee we have come along. way. Now this Sleep inducing Jargon makes the news on the same day  They say helmets don't help so, Peter Troode & Basil Campbell  had half a footy on there 3UZ for nothing.

Consultants will recommend each player to wear 100mm Elastoplast across there Kissa, only can be removed at halftime,
Belief Homophobic Slurs would decrease on dry days.

Very sad news - just read the passing of Dennis Cometti - the ABC site said he had been unwell for several years - i was unaware of that - only 76 that is young for today

He was a great commentator , he coached West Perth also , i can remember that , he had firebrand president of the time - Rod someone

My favourite recollection of Dennis , he had that great live show on Frid night on the ABC called Sportsnight - hed have Keith Slater in their with him previewing Saturdays WAFL round , and theyd cross out to George at GP for some of the pacing races

And i can vividly remember him at Richmond Raceway , the year they the WA Derby their ( GP i think was closed for modification ) and i can still  picture this now he  allways had a pleasant smile on his face , striding down near the betting ring ( not actually in the race ) and he was a big bloke - i reckon 6ft 4inc - big powerfull very fit person , but of course we all get old and some dont have luck with their health and he has passed away . Ican remember many many years in Sydney a Scottish medical specialist about 40 - use to cycle over the Syd Harbour bridge to work every day , swim his 20 laps at an Olympic size pool , and he got cancer - and he said dont discount luck with your health , you can do everything right but you still need luck
