Just because you read it on FB doesn't make it the truth.

I can assure you there was no power until around 2:30.

Poweroutages across the state 22/5 with varying times coming back on line ---- West  Lamington,,----Lamington  come back on line  between 12.55.---1.10   with some parts of Goldfields Kalgoorlie region schedule for 3.30pm. The racecourse area mustive been 2.30  ---Surely the stewards would have been in touch with western power.

To call the meeting off at 12.40pm with first race set to go 1.30pm.

    Stewards report

Due to a power outage in the greater Kalgoorlie region with restoration of services being estimated at
1pm, the Stewards provisionally rescheduled the start of racing to commence at 1.30pm.
At approximately 12.30pm, Western Power advised via website and telephone audio that the
resumption of services had been re-scheduled for 3.30pm.
Under those circumstances, the Stewards with the agreement of the Kalgoorlie Boulder Racing Club,
    abandoned the meeting

thats typical Western Power... they always allow for the worst case.
My experience is that it usually comes back on much sooner than they predict.

Why can't they use a generator to power the photo finish and tote? Wouldn't that be enough until the power was restored?

I live 100yards from the place and power was on at 1.10.  Patrons on course said power was on just after 1 as well

You boys might be different phases.

Also can confirm with a lot of their works effecting my work the restoration times are a very loose guide, 99 times out of 100 estimated time well past the actual time on. A case of better to under promise and over deliver.
