    Scott’s Wednesday Belmont Preview

    BelmontPreview_ScottEmbry

    Scott Embry’s Preview

    Race 1

OLIVER’S TRAVELS simply looks a class above rivals and a nice acquisition for the Miller stable. OREGON BRONZE should improve with blinkers on. CONICAL PEAK has ability, just needs to put it all together. TOW ROPE will get back and run on.

    Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 3

Suggested Bet – OLIVER’S TRAVELS WIN

    Race 2

PERFECT JEWEL has trialed well on two occasions. Regally bred and related to some extraordinarily talented individuals. Unbackable price but exciting proposition. MELROS BEACH should stalk the speed from the inside gate. ARRUM BOY has always promised a lot, returns fresh without a trial. INVISIBLE PRO hails from WA’s premier juvenile stable.

    Numbers: 9 – 7 – 1 – 2

Suggested Bet – PERFECT JEWEL WIN

    Race 3

PEARL TRADE should work into the three wide line midrace and prove very hard to hold out. ASCOT GOLD gets a weight swing on Pearl Trade, a maiden win isn’t far away. INFINITE BEAUTY could hug the fence and run a cheeky race. FINE SCENT was never in the race on debut, sharp improver.

    Numbers: 1 – 2 – 10 – 12

Suggested Bet – PEARL TRADE WIN

    Race 4

CAPE LADY returned below her best and there is still a question mark on whether she has retuned the same horse but on raw ability goes very close. DIA DE LA RAZA is again perfectly placed and drawn to race on speed. AKIKO should get a gun run midfield. JUPITER RISING ran well in Saturday grade, this is easier.

    Numbers: 10 – 1 – 9 – 8

Suggested Bet – CAPE LADY WIN

    Race 5

YOU WATCHING ME does not win out of turn and his overall winning strike rate is heinous, however, this race lacks depth and he could break through. SEALED WITH A KISS trialed well for his new stable, keep an eye on the market. SOVEREIGN HALL is a hard horse to catch, blinkers should help. TOMOHAWK is suited over further but is a consistent type.

    Numbers: 7 – 5 – 6 – 1

Suggested Bet – YOU WATCHING ME EACHWAY

SuperPick - Race 5 No. 7 YOU WATCHING ME - Profit Plus – 25% (Place)

    Race 6

NEW TIME is rising 10 years old but expect Maddison Brown to release the handbrake and let the old boy run. He’ll prove hard to catch. CASH ON CALL is a talented type on the rise, he’ll be charging late. ANOTHER VISION ran an eye catcher first-up and is drawn soft. HALLDORA should position up prominently.

    Numbers: 1 – 8 – 3 – 6

Suggested Bet – NEW TIME EACHWAY

    Race 7

GINGER NINJA should get the run of the race from a gun gate in a very evenly graded race. BELVEDERE BOY is racing better than numerical form suggests and Staeck on is a big plus. SAXAPAK looks as though he will get a soft lead. LE SCHILLER relishes soft going, drawn awkwardly he may have to roll forwards at some stage.

    Numbers: 3 – 8 – 6 – 5

Suggested Bet – GINGER NINJA EACHWAY

    Race 8

OORAH has come back nicely this preparation for his new stable. This race is very thin and he gets his chance. SOMETHING BIG should box seat from the inside and go close. MIDNIGHT DRAMA ran a bottler in the Oaks. Up sharply in weight and drawn awkwardly. RUN FOR A REASON is looking for this trip.

    Numbers: 10 – 7 – 1 – 6

    Suggested Bet – OORAH EACHWAY

    Quaddie (Race 5-8)

    1,2,5,6,7

    1,3,8

    1,2,3,4,5,6,8

    1,7,10.

Only 9 comments for this city midweek meeting. Did the heavy track diminish interest?

Nobody seems to have noticed that Scott Embrys second pick in Race 7 was Belvedere Boy and it was $101 in early markets before firming to around $14, so to Scott "well done"

Be nice if he tipped the winner of the last somewhere, damn thing cost me a nice little slice of the quaddie :((

How can The 2 winners of the last to races pay those dividends on exposed form.

Very ordinary both should have been over $50

I always take these previews with a grain of salt but don't mind Scott Embry. He's not afraid to throw out one at odds and has snagged a few.

Nothing against Greg Hooper but he always played safe with his previews, most of the time his top 4 consisted of the top 4 in the market.

Last 4 starts 2000m and over beaten a combined 20.75 lengths, in his preview says Staeck going on a big plus is Staecky 20 lengths better than Bullet?. He either knows something us mugs don't or pulled it out of his a... Just my thoughts

I wasn't referencing in relation to Belvedere Boy yesterday (F@#k knows where he got that from).

Just in regards to his tipping previously. He's made valid points about roughies in the past which have payed off.

Havnt really paid a lot of attention to his previews in the past Jell might have to start looking. But do agree with Jum the best it got out to or opened up at on the fixed was $51.00 that would have been a bit skinny for mine

I backed Triple Express like I always do and the $10 a place was nice.

Agree Scott's previews are on point even predicts how the race is going to be run eg race 3
  • buffybuffy    277 posts
Suggest those who think Belvedere  Boy was a fluke pick should watch the replays of its last 3 runs. I have backed it in the two runs prior to today and followed up today.
  • spinkingspinking    3,996 posts
11 out 12 beaten 10.75 lengths last start Belmont 6 out 14 northam 3 lengths 9 out 13 beaten4.5 lengths Belmont start before that last won over a year ago Port Hedland . You Buffy should take Scott Embrys job were you happy with the top price Wa tab if that's what you took
  • UnderpantsUnderpants    17 posts
You could look at it that way or you could look at it like

4 runs in his distance range

Beaten 10.75 over racing locked away on rail when never a chance with the tempo on a Saturday in the second highest rating staying event since probably the dark alert cup win off top of my head. Then running on strong against a horse dusty storm who runs into contention in stakes races shortly after while BB ran 20Lengths slower than class standard to the 400m mark can't win off that pace.before that 4.5L off them on a Saturday and the start before that he beat rosewoodhill home who nearly started sub $10 vs Scales of Justice.

Then there's ginger ninja who IMO he was easily better than 3 starts back and the former opens around 4.80.

He had been racing well BB. As is the Wright stable at the moment.

It's easy to make a case for any winner after the event if you really want to

Some of the sarcy comments are hard to understand. I know Spinking you repeated the horses form from the racebook but did you actually watch any of its replays  Or note that it dropped from a Saturday 66 plus into a midweek 58 plus which is a 4kg difference and only carried a kg more. And a good drop in grade. The Northam run was very good, went back to last from a wide barrier  and ran on very well finishing close to Ginger Ninja an Power Packed Check Power Packeds form since then. And a one and a half kilo swing and one is $6 and one is$101

Very surprised Autier did not fire a protest in against the winner for interference at the top of the straight. Steack lucky stewards weren't too interested in it either. I'm sure if it was an apprentice they would have been all over it.

  • buffybuffy    277 posts
