The listed Northam Stakes with only 6 runners is very disappointing. It would have to be the smallest Northam Stakes field ever assembled.

Barakey wouldn't have beaten a large field

Black Caviar for the most part looked unbeatable but I don't recall it running against 5 others in a listed race.

It was a field of seven for Barakey.

Quality over quantity every day......  Then again, WTF are the bottom do doing in there?  $2500 for running 5th?

Quality AND quantity would be better. The sooner they get rid of these set weights and penalties races the better. They will always attract small fields, particularly at this time of year when most of the good horses are out.

Um, pretty sure this is the lead up race for 4 x G3 races at Belmont.  If you don't have set weights races, then your asking for all the 'good horses' to go first up into the Roma Cup.  Luckygray's first up record is great, so should still go well.

Thanks Fastmoney. To quote the song..My memory has just been sold.

Northam Stakes despite the small field is still an interesting race.

Good one Slip get with the programme! Never backed her straight out once..however did anchor her to win in First Four betting for about 20 of her victories and despite being small fields could never get one.Tried to get them for units and would have 3rd and 4th around the wrong way etc. Only punter in Australia to have been on Black Caviar about 20 times and lost!

Talking of small fields...Belmont tomorrow 3 of the first 4 races no third dividend. Race 1 just one scratching away from having 4 consecutive races of NTD. Welcome back Belmont I-)

Very surprising as Belmont normally has healthy fields on returning.

In the 7 years prior to this, the Northam Sprint has averaged 9 runners. The largest field in that time has been 11 runners in 2011.
Let's face it, this year it is essentially a 4 horse field. The bottom 2 horses are the the lowest rated starters in the last 8 years.

Rodent & Fastmoney are going great guns on the stats.

apparently over the last 10 years there has been only 87 runners and a total of $810 000 in prize money handed out. Doensn't seem like the most successful race going around...

last start maiden winner (that was always gonna need further) they rarely win at their next start dungy... I hope the Pikey factor didn't suck you in oops

the winner needs to be swabbed

Magnifisio just a different grade to the others. Dawn Approach certainly has repaid the $40,000 price tag as a mare, Delicate Snip, in foal to Statue of Liberty with earnings more than $527,000.

Was up the Tab and kept thinking where have I seen that Chariot Queen mentioned today...was ringing a bell..might as well put $15 each way on...can't do much more harm! Nice to get square for the day. That's as good as a win.

Well done Oliver but how the heck did you pick that as an each way special?

I didn't have an interest today but dipped out as I fancied the O'Donnell Erkelens combination double. I also fancied Almaleo last start and didn't follow up today.

did you never get to study mailman's lose a leg thread lol...

one stat you've told ages ago that I always take note of now is Pearce's horses rarely go back to back and string two wins together, basically cant hold form, this applies to a few trainers out there

Don't forget Delicate Miss she has already earned some good coin.
