Pinner dropped the ball

West Australian Racing

All the talk at Ascot today was of the special thoroughbred industry meeting to
be held at RWWA on Tuesday.

I'm told that the stakeholders  and RWWA have had it up to their eyeballs
with the Perth Racing and especially their Chairman.

When Pinner came in, he was telling anyone who would listen that Perth Racing
had entered a new era. New relationships, transparency, openness etc etc. It
seems now that all he has brought is a toxic environment making his position
increasingly untenable. In less than 12 months Pinner has been responsible for

*2 CEO's quitting before they even started.

*Worst Ascot opening day in the clubs history.

*Galloping towards their worst financial year loss in the clubs history.

*General Managers leaving and others looking for other jobs.

*Relationship with RWWA and stakeholders at an all time low. *Crowd attendances
couldn't be any lower if they tried.

*Belmont development looking more like a Disneyland dream than a reality.

Maybe the Action Man is PR's only hope!!

Whoever came in after Ted was in a hiding to nothing. Nearly everything you mentioned is as a result of legions mangement. Let not forget that the new (never to work a day at the club) CEO was employed by Ted before he left. And all the losses can't be attributed to Pinner. And the previous one had left before Pinner was on the board. Pinner may have deficiencies but he can't be held accountable for most of the ones you highlighted

Seems to me the meeting is about five years too late.

Just to clarify I meant whilst under ayers reign. I actually have no idea who employs who. Although a little birdie told me that Pinner may have actually employee both of them!!!!!!

I think they were both great candidates. Only problem was neither made it so perhaps the lag between appointment and start date was the issue. Too long to think about it. Needed to hit the ground running as instant change is needed.

Open talk of a coup in the ranks of the Board members. Tired of this bloke making decisions without consultation, is the claim. RWWA have had a gutful. The latest CEO in waiting got an education, nothing more, and pulled the pin. Hear anything else and it is spin doctoring. The joint is rooted.

So what your saying Damo is the very board members who voted him In for chairman are now voting him out after about 6 months??? So how many of them are going to resign for their poor performance for voting him in???? I mean the only reason he's performing badly is due to them givin him the job?!?!

I was told mr Pinner was unwell after the Hong Kong trip and was unable to make the meeting. He may even be in hospital.. His place at the meeting was taken by Mr Nisbett.

i believe that the meeting was one of those that no-one will talk about in fear that any gossiping will be traced back to them

Its been suggested to me that the next month will be very interesting......so it'll be a wait and see until the rumour mill starts turning out the info!!!!
