Ascot 27th January 2016

West Australian Racing
No thread so far, which probably demonstrates the lack of interest in this meeting.

I'm just disappointed that Perth Racing continue to put penalty rates surrounding public holidays for their staff, before the greater good of the WA Racing Industry. To hold a meeting today, when millions have returned to work and following a national day of celebration yesterday of all things Australian, we have the principal club in this State holding a race meeting today because it is only a fraction of the cost of holding it yesterday.

Ironically, one of the races is a plea to the public and corporate sector at large. It is named "Sponsor a Race - Contact Perth Racing Handicap".

It should be called, "We couldn't couldn't get laid in prison Handicap".

Or maybe everyone was pre occupied with a stubby in one hand and a snagger in the other having a good time with family and friends and didn't think about starting up a thread or were unable to function enough to start it up (like myself)

Banjo should find himself in the winners stall.

    Best: Lucky Legacy

Maybe One More & Queen Of Choice should both romp in.

What about Damien's last sentence on his post? Sound like the rudest  I've seen here so far.
Damien you could've called it the 'Flat out like a Drinking Lizard Handicap'.

Getting that far back over 1800m at Ascot. I will wait for the official times but they walked in front from what i could see. He doesn't mind going forward when he's serious- you have to assume he wasn't in that case or maybe the horse is just slow and can't go forward irrespective of how slow the tempo is.

At the very least he needed to get on his bike earlier. Did he move a muscle before the home turn? Not from what I could see. The fav could not win that race under those circumstances unless they went at a suicial tempo in front. They clearly didn't do that.

@therealkramer   you are 100% correct on this one. very ordinary ride.

I had pencilled down Drum as one that was ready to fire after a tough run last time behind Saker but it went woeful. Was struggling to keep up 800m out. None of them are champions and they made the winner (who is nothing special)  look like a group horse.
