R1. Gm Taxation & Accounting Maiden - Perth Turf Talk

Leading trainer Steve Wolfe appears to have a mortgage on the first with honest types (4) AND SO AM I and (5) TOPPED UP GIRL set to fight out the finish. The pair have only been separated by a half-head at the finish of their past two outings, but we believe the inside barrier draw gives a slight edge to Bearcat three-year-old (4) AND SO AM I. Apprentice Mitchell Pateman has led on him previously when finishing second at Bunbury 15/01 and he should be able to control the race from in front here. Not many horses have raced as consistently as (5) TOPPED UP GIRL in the Great Southern this season and she certainly deserves a maiden win, but the awkward barrier draw means she will be spotting her stablemate a head start in running. (8) EMMA NOVEMBER ran a bottler against some decent mares in the Golden Bracelet at Albany 7/03, but burnt punters when well supported back in maiden company at Mt Barker 15/03 last start. Appears to race best at Albany, however, and the slight drop in distance suits, and (7) MISS GELANA is the interesting runner racing first-up for her new trainer Justin Warwick. Was doing her best work late in a recent Belmont 9/03 trial and the father and daughter Warwick combination cannot be underestimated.

4. AND SO AM I - 5. TOPPED UP GIRL - 7. MISS GELANA

SUGGESTED BET - 4. AND SO AM I $20 x $20

R2. Cameron Caravans/coromal Maiden - Perth Turf Talk

Wayward three-year-old (5) TEN GRAND WALKING looks set to break maiden status after his inexperience cost him victory at Albany 7/03 last start, when hanging off the rail in running and only being beaten a three-quarter length on the line. Should be able to roll forward again, this time from a handy barrier draw, and really appears to have this race at his mercy. (9) BETTSIE comes out of the same race as (5) TEN GRAND WALKING and if she had of drawn a better barrier we probably would have had her on top, as her first-up fourth was one of the best runs of the day. (9) BETTSIE will be storming home at the finish, with stable rider Shaun McGruddy back in the saddle. (1) MYTHICAL TRUST flopped as a red-hot favourite at Geraldton 11/03, when racing first-up for the Warwick stable, but was ridden fairly aggressively with the blinkers on that day. Appears likely to be ridden more patiently from a wide barrier here with the blinkers off. The race-fit (4) SULTAN PIPPA was pretty stiff not to break through at Mt Barker 15/03 last start and apprentice Mandy Richmond has been racking up the winners of late.

    5. TEN GRAND WALKING - 9. BETTSIE - 1. MYTHICAL TRUST

    SUGGESTED BET - 5. TEN GRAND WALKING $25 x $25

What's the rule about Adam Durrant-trained stayers? Well there isn't actually a rule but do yourself a favour and just back them, and you can do see here with (5) GENERIS HEART in this lead-up towards the $100,000 XXXX Gold-Albany Cup (2100m) on Sunday April 5. The former Queenslander (5) GENERIS HEART is one of the stable's lesser lights, but he did start favourite in the Mt Barker Cup on 15/03 last start and his performance was reasonable considering the way the race was run. Durrant is in a league of his own in races over 2000m and beyond and (5) GENERIS HEART should just win. (3) KING POINT looked all over a winner at Albany 7/03 last start before being overhauled late and he appears to be building towards a peak performance, and will relish the drop to 54.5kg with Clint Johnston-Porter's claim. (7) THE DANEHILL ROSE has endured two tough runs in succession but should be able to enjoy a softer run in transit here. Drops 4kg and we're expecting a competitive performance, while (2) REGIMENTAL PRIDE is racing beyond 1690m for the first time and appears to be a risk at the trip here.

    5. GENERIS HEART - 3. KING POINT - 7. THE DANEHILL ROSE

    SUGGESTED BET - 5. GENERIS HEART $50

R4. Mcb Constructions Handicap - Perth Turf Talk

    (1) CORPORATE LARRIKIN was gunning for a third straight win when leading and kicking clear at Mt Barker 15/03 but he was run down late by the capable My Bonny Lad. Was still a brave performance and he is returning to Albany, where his record around this circuit is outstanding. (1) CORPORATE LARRIKIN should be sent straight to the front by in-form apprentice Mandy Richmond and be too slick for his rivals, in his final lead-up before a likely defence of his Fitzpatrick Plate title on Albany Cup Day, Sunday April 5. (7) CANNA LILY was huge in the Golden Bracelet and will appreciate dropping 4kg here, but has been racing predominantly over the mile of late and this may be a stride or two too short for her. (3) TALK OF ANGELS had excuses at Albany 7/03 last start, but on her best form must rate among the main fancies, and Esperance visitor (5) CUT SNAKE has a great winning strike rate and his Bay Of Isles form cannot be faulted.

    1. CORPORATE LARRIKIN - 7. CANNA LILY - 3. TALK OF ANGELS

    SUGGESTED BET - 1. CORPORATE LARRIKIN $40

R5. Albany Cup Easter Sunday - Fashions Rewarded Hcp - Perth Turf Talk

While we have decided upon local star (1) RUN LIAM RUN as out on-top selections, it was not without some headaches, as a deeper look at this race suggests it won't be a walk in the park for the likely favourite. Having his first start in 77 days, with 59kg and Takahide Ikenushi riding him for the first time suggests there are some question marks with (1) RUN LIAM RUN, but he possesses above average ability and may simply be too good for these. We're thinking he'll be too good. (7) COCO CASH was a beaten favourite at Bunbury 12/03 but endured a ?toughish' run from an awkward barrier draw and missed a placing. Should get the run of the race from a better barrier, drops 2kg here and appears to be the main danger. (3) BINDAREE LADY failed badly at Ascot 21/02, but has been freshened-up since and is racing back at her home track, where she has a terrific record. Look out for her to bounce back to form, and (6) HANDFUL OF DUST looks really well in as a country 60-rater and she comes out of a very competitive line-up at Bunbury 12/03.

    1. RUN LIAM RUN - 7. COCO CASH - 3. BINDAREE LADY

SUGGESTED BET - 1. RUN LIAM RUN $40

R6. Glass Suppliers Handicap - Perth Turf Talk

This is a pretty interesting affair with multiple formlines and multiple winning chances, but after much consideration we have placed (3) BIG BOTH WAYS on top. Big run from a wide barrier at Albany 7/03 last start when only beaten a length on the line by The Express, and she did win her two starts beforehand. Should get the gun run and give her backers a great sight. (11) LADY OF SUBSTANCE impressed us with her turn of foot to salute first-up in maiden company at Albany 7/03 last start. This is obviously tougher and she has to jump from the outside alley, but that win did have merit. The race-fit (12) MUCHOS KUDOS is building and looked to have the race parcelled up at Mt Barker 15/02 before being overrun late. Should race forward and be given every chance from the handy barrier here, and (2) KNIGHT RUNNER is racing first-up from a long spell but did look good when winning an Albany 7/03 trial and has plenty of ability.

    3. BIG BOTH WAYS - 11. LADY OF SUBSTANCE - 12. MUCHOS KUDOS

    SUGGESTED BET - 3. BIG BOTH WAYS $25 x $25

R7. Due South - Cellarbrations Handicap - Perth Turf Talk

Good, tough race to finish the day and our initial markets suggested over half the field could win here without surprising. And similar to the first race it's the Steve Wolfe stable that holds the key, with four runners including our top two selections (1) TEE PEE CAT and (4) ELITE FLIGHT, who both come out of the Golden Bracelet at Albany 7/03. (1) TEE PEE CAT had no real luck in running on that occasion and did a big job to finish as close as she did, on a day that didn't suit horses coming from behind. (1) TEE PEE CAT meets (4) ELITE FLIGHT 5kg better at the weights, has a perfect barrier draw as well as the services of veteran hoop Peter Hall, who is riding like a man possessed and was recently described as the Benjamin Button of the WA jockey ranks. (4) ELITE FLIGHT hasn't done a thing wrong since arriving in the Great Southern and her win in the Golden Bracelet was full of merit. Does rise 6kg but we still have her rated highly. The Mark Bairstow-trained mare (3) MUSARK, also comes through the Golden Bracelet, but has raced since at Pinjarra 19/03 and competed really well after racing on-pace in a race that suited back-markers. She is race-fit and in good form, and (6) BLACK NEMESIS won here three starts back and put in a good effort at Bunbury 12/03 placing behind Satan's Dancer, who went on to race well at Ascot last Saturday.

    1. TEE PEE CAT - 4. ELITE FLIGHT - 3. MUSARK

    SUGGESTED BET - 1. TEE PEE CAT $20 x $20
