R1. Westminster National Business Finance Handicap - Perth Turf Talk

Dueton has carried 60.5kg at both starts savaging the line first-up when he found trouble throughout and then plugging away when ridden closed to the speed behind talented duo She's A Virtue and Temporise. Drops 4kg on those runs with the claim for inform apprentice Jordan Turner and I think that he is the way to go in the opener. Bet365 offer their usual ridiculous prices and I snapped up as much of the $9 eachway as they would allow, now into around 3.90 and that seems a more reasonable price. Should be beating these. Inok is a grand old galloper who has been very good to me, will jump and roll with only 54.5kg on his back but this is a rise in grade. Need A Lift is a tiny little mare with a massive heart, will give her all and be charging home off the back of a hot speed.

1. DUETON - 4. INOK (NZ) - 2. NEED A LIFT

SUGGESTED BET - 1. DUETON $50 x $50

I'm tipping an early double for Jordan Turner aboard the Trevor Andrews trained Paseo Del Prado, always around the mark he is a places multi lock and should again run a drum. Has finished in the money at 12 of 16 WA runs and picks up 1.5kg on Right Honourable for only being beaten 1.2 lengths. An extra 100m should be in his favour and to the detriment of Right Honourable who is yet to place beyond 1500m so I'm more than happy to have Paseo Del Prado on top. Effort first-up when beaten a long neck New Time was super and he should settle about third in running and be too strong. Right Honourable will be looking to steal some cheap sectionals, he was heavily commissioned last start. Step Right Up hit the line hard after missing the kick, a bit of a suck horse with only 1 win from 24 starts so I would want an eachway price to be backing him.

    2. PASEO DEL PRADO - 4. RIGHT HONOURABLE - 10. STEP RIGHT UP

    SUGGESTED BET - 2. PASEO DEL PRADO $25 x $25

We all know Our Pu Bear will lead them to the 100m and at $21 I'm always happy to have a few places on him because atleast you will get a run for your money but when there is so much speed in the race with Regal Romp, Marchand, Jest Envy Her, Bangkok Express, Agachar Cruz and Mamaroochy all capable of pressing forward and applying pressure I think I'll go with the obvious and tip and Seeker. The 3 year old can sit just off the speed and when Whiting presses the button he should be hitting top gear as the leaders put it into reverse and with only 54 on his back should take a stack of beating. Our Pu Bear and the ever consistent Jest Envy Her to battle out the minors.

    10. SEEKER - 6. OUR PU BEAR - 5. JEST ENVY HER

    SUGGESTED BET - 10. SEEKER $25 x $25

R4. Westminster National-gimcrack Stakes - Perth Turf Talk

My two favourite 2 year old sires are War Chant and Alfred Nobel and that's the way I'll be tipping here. Chantski won by an emphatic 3.5 lengths on debut leading all the way and then scorched the ground in the 2 year old Magic Millions when heavily supported in betting. First crack at Group 3 level and she should prevail. Showy Chloe was specked at odds in the Supremacy Stakes and flew home along the fence, will be improved for that experience and is another highly promising daughter of Alfred Nobel. Chasing some value for third in Habenera, big wraps about this War Chant filly who is yet to put it all together, drawn awkwardly but could be one at odds. Military Reign is undefeated but comes from a Bunbury maiden and a Midweeker, huge rise in class.

    1. CHANTSKI - 7. SHOWY CHLOE - 10. HABENERA

    SUGGESTED BET - 1. CHANTSKI $60

R5. Perth Stakes - Perth Turf Talk

Lucky Street was far, far too good in the 2 year old Magic Millions and could potentially set himself a small sires career if he continues on this highly impressive run of 2 year old victories. Paul Harvey should position him up perfectly in running again and prove way too good. For mine the main danger comes from debutant Move on Notice from the strong juvenile yard of Simon Miller. Is a $9 chance in the Karrakatta which demands respect. A $260 000 yearling purchase, half to Chris Waller's Flying Sebring and winner of a 400m jump out by 8 lengths, he will have some toe and they'll need to chase him down. Pushin' Shapes was excellent on debut when greener than the grass at the WACA, one to follow.

    1. LUCKY STREET - 11. MOVE ON NOTICE - 6. PUSHIN' SHAPES

    SUGGESTED BET - 1. LUCKY STREET $80

R6. Schweppes-j.c. Roberts Stakes - Perth Turf Talk

Palace Intruder was given no hope last start by Azzopardi when three deep without cover from the jump before crossing to sit in the breeze at the 1000m and fading into fifth beaten 3.8 lengths. Picks up 2kg on Battle Hero from that run and with the services of Paul Harvey, hopefully looking for a race to race double after saluting on Lucky Street should have him perfectly position and poised to strike from barrier 3. Should be around the $4.50 mark and I'll give him another go. Battle Hero was an impressive Listed winner in the Lex Piper and should again be the testing material. Say Geronimo has only missed the money twice in his career and should again fill a hole in the trifecta.

    1. PALACE INTRUDER - 4. BATTLE HERO - 3. SAY GERONIMO (NZ)

    SUGGESTED BET - 1. PALACE INTRUDER $30 x $30

R7. Natasha Stakes - Perth Turf Talk

Neverland was never in the hunt last start when Delicacy was backed off the charts, given the perfect run in transit by Peter Hall and kicked clear in the straight to record an effortless victory. Neverland was one of the only horses making any ground late and with another 2 furlongs in distance I think she can turn the tables and win this. Is the Oaks favourite and equal favourite for the WATC Derby and can prove herself here. Delicacy is the obvious danger, again drawn delightfully in barrier 6 she will look the winner at the top of the straight. Liberty Rise will settle off the speed and hit the line hard, does step up from a mile to 2200 on a 7 day back up which is of slight concern.

    2. NEVERLAND - 1. DELICACY - 4. LIBERTY RISE

    SUGGESTED BET - 2. NEVERLAND $50 x $50

I'm suggesting a double bet in the last, wins/eachway on Thunderclap Newman and a places gamble of Balbowa. Thunderclap Newman has come back a treat this time in for new trainer Paula Wagg and Shaun O'Donnell is riding in super form, they combine here from a gun barrier aboard the favourite and look extremely well placed to salute in the last. This isn't an overly strong field and he should be sending punters home with a grin. Balbowa is one worth specking at odds and with a places price around $5 on offer I'm happy to jump aboard that train as well. Races off a 42 day freshen up and savaged the line behind Moonsearch. Meets Diversicolor and Bayatorio both 4kg better at the weights having beaten them home on that occasion. Via Laurentina looked the winner last start and is closing in on a second career victory.

    9. THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN - 11. BALBOWA (NZ) - 4. VIA LAURENTINA

    SUGGESTED BET - 9. THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN $25 x $25

Very difficult programme, if we are facing a heavy rated track tomorrow.especially with the 2yo and 3yo features.
Most of which will be running in these conditions for the first time.
Have to look at the wet track sires when doing your form.
There are also a number of sires who have questionable form with wet tracks,Oratorio being one of them.
Both Seeker,Lucky Street and Palace Intruder by Oratorio Hmmmmmm. But on the positive side Bayatorio has won in the soft going.
How are the War Chants going to handle the conditions??
Best of luck to you all tomorrow

My bet of day is Step Right Up with a a much better alley this week. I have had it blackbooked and I reckon it can do the job.

Mind U I have set very low tipping standards/results and consistantly fail to live up to those poor standards. haha

I make the swing to PDP against RH 2.5kgs, and in agreeance with the additional 100m suiting PDP down to the ground, and getting over the top of RH late

The Natasha Stakes could be a case of deja vu with Balmont Girl the victim of track bias in last year's 1000 Guineas before gapping them over 2200m next start.. She left no doubt about who was the dominant filly-at least up to that point-next start in the Natasha.

No spot in the top 3 for London Line! Surely he can do no more I think he will be right in, I had to go check to see if he was scratched!

I'm keen Right Honourable myself. I'm aware of the weight advantage to Paseo but feel the horse is unfairly judged on it's two unplaced 1600m runs. The early speed it set in those two races were cut throat but it gets a soft lead here and has 2 wet wins to it's advantage as well.

Have had a little nibble at Almachino in the last at 51 &11. Don't know how well it's going but it's 3rd up form reads 13134. It always races in 72+ and upwards and drops back to a 60+ today. Has 3kg claim of Shelby Bowtell who's been riding a few winners for Nev lately.
