How good was this blokes win on the weekend. Looks outstanding.
Story from The West:
Superstar Black Caviar's half-brother All Too Hard's value as a potential stallion soared with his impressive win in the Group Two Sires' Produce Stakes at Flemington.
A $1,025,000 yearling purchase at the Australian Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney last year by Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm Racing syndicate, the two-year-old is already worth considerably more than that.
He has raced twice for Saturday's 1400m victory which followed his win in the Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m) at Flemington last month.
"It's a crazy thing, she's freakish and the best but he's probably worth more money than her," co-trainer Wayne Hawkes said.
"He showed them a clean set of heels and onwards and upwards he's off to Sydney now.
"All he has to do now is win a Group One. It doesn't have to be the Slipper, just a Group One.
"If he makes it to that level gee whiz. He's not going to be sold obviously but he's going to be worth a lot of money."
Trainers John Hawkes and sons Wayne and Michael decided to bypass last month's Group One Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) with the Casino Prince colt to save him for the VRC Sires' Produce.
"Caulfield probably wasn't his right track, we wanted a big track," Wayne Hawkes said.
Ridden by Dwayne Dunn, All Too Hard ($4.60) was 11th of the 14 runners at the 800m but when asked to quicken he strode out beautifully and scored by four lengths from Pronto Pronto ($7) with Road Trippin ($31) a short half head away third.
"He's not a natural two-year-old, he's doing this on raw ability and he's going to be a serious three-year-old," Hawkes said.
The stable has already earmarked the Group One Caulfield Guineas for the colt in the spring.
John Hawkes was keeping his options open on a start in the $3.5 million Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on April 7.
"We'll see what happens but we won't rush into anything. We'll just see how he progresses from the run," he said.
"He may or may not, it'll be fifty-fifty but the Sires' (Produce Stakes) was always what I liked for him and maybe the Champagne (Stakes). We won't rule anything out.
"From day one he has always wanted to be a racehorse and you have a lot of colts but he is one of those special colts."
Dunn, has who ridden the colt in both runs, already has a huge opinion of him.
"It's hard to go off too soon but obviously with his pedigree he has got a fair bit to live up to, but he's done everything we've asked of him, so it was just an awesome win today," he said.

People in the East already putting a value much much higher than that.
I would think that normal valuation rules wouldn't strictly apply given his half sister is possibly the worlds best sprinter and will most likely retire unbeaten.
I don't think the owner would sell for 3 million right now even if ATH were a gelding and thats not because Tinkler has plenty.

If the quote was from John and not Wayne I would attach more credibility but I reckon the family would have some idea about his worth on the open market right now.
Its all speculative I guess as Tinkler will never sell, and you are exactly right Damien, ATH needs to win a Group 1. I reckon thats not far away.
Just watched Racing Retro Crew (Freedman and Dufficy) who thought 10-20 mill right now.
I also think that at 3 million 'someone is having a lend of you' Damien. Could sell for that right now if he was a gelding. Look at the money that was on offer for Manawanui.
Horses sell to Hong Kong for 1 million fairly regularly and not many of them win their second start in a Group 2 by panels. Thats even before you take into account the whole Black Caviar think.
You could sell him for 3 million in a heartbeat.
The whole Group 1 in two hemispheres is a joke in any case. A good proportion of those stallion making results are boat races IMO.
They are also not a half brother to the Worlds greatest sprinter who has never been beaten in her career.
a very loose rule of thumb for stallion valuation is
3years x mares served x service fee
you think he could easily stand at stud for $50k right now with that breeding - probably conservative figure
so 3 x 80 x 50 = $12 million
now factor in his massive potential being just a 2yo related to the best sprinter of a generation - I have no doubt if he went to sale the offers would be pushing $20mil
Any mare is good for perhaps 16 years at the upper end, with all the problems that come with breeding such as missing, slipping, birth faults, foals dying of something in a paddock etc, they are simply not worth the Earth.
But one thing should be taken on board, talking about how much the market will pay is only that, just cheap talk. It is meaningless if the horse is not really for sale. It might sell a few newspapers, but journalists are notorious for not letting the facts get in the way of a good story.
I might even get most of my money back this saturday!
- the reason its not running in the slipper is because the ATC wouldnt accept it unless tinkler fixed up his growing debt with the ATC ( sponsorship $ etc). Tinkler obviously didnt oblige and the horse cant run.
I also understand that the 'God Has Spoken' and 'Playing God' names also came from this type of experience with the naming registrar!
Damien you would have to agree that the 3mill you valued All to Hard at is probably a bit light given what the market place for the family indicated this morning.
