As has been said in other threads... she has to be dictated to and made to chase not just sit there and run a faster 600 than the rest of them. That probably means that you will need to run a very fast first 600 to try to get the sprint out of her.

The only way she gets beat is a BROKEN LEG,didnt they try that tactic in the TJ Smith Hay List went mad in front and from memory she ate him up ove the last 150m in which i think was her best win to date as she stood Hay List 4L at the top of the straight

Yes but he timed his run wrong as he clearly peaked on his run. You can also say that is the race that she has come closest to being beaten in so those would be the best tactics. HL definitely needs everything to go his way to be any chance (unless he improves). God forbid they be aggressive on BC and just lead on her. Then she will never get beat.

She is a horse, they all can get beat if off their game (a measly 0.5% from her top over 1200 is a couple of lengths - enough to get beat).

You need two horses. As mentioned Hay List tried this concept, but didnt have anything left to finish off, almost impossible to do it both ends. Take the fastest horse going around (thinking a Star of Florida type), send it out in 10.5 sec furlongs, takes her out of her comfort zone (has to wind her up a little earlier to keep in touch), Horse B (who ideally would be more of a sharp 1400 horse rather than true sprinter) sits on her back gets tow into it and has absolute last crack (pacemaker runs last).

Any other scenario she has you covered, can sprint fastest (basically 95% of her wins), but has shown she can tough it out best (TJ Smith - by far her best win IMO). Above concept takes the sprint out of the equation, and also tests stamina enough that the easier run that the one getting the tow in receives makes a difference. I'd say this needs to be over 1400 as well, any shorter and Horse B will have trouble keeping up.

    Davenports should buy a pacemaker.

Weight stops trains, even the BC express. At WFA at 7 furlongs or less, forget it.
Hay List could be a chance if they both go to the Newmarket if he gets about 7kgs advantage.
Personally I hope they go to Dubai for the Golden Shaheen where she can take on and smash the best sprinters from around the world, before wrapping up the GSC and the $1m bonus in the UK.

    Very well thought out, darkshines.
Don't forget Hay List has not started for 9 months..now a 6yo, has travelled down from Sydney....big ask!!
I doubt they would start her in the N/market with 61kg, the horse's well-being is paramout to connections.
Doubt she would start again next week. Plus I hope they don't succumb to the enormous pressure they will get from the VRC to run her.
Steve is right..have this run and then concentrate on Dubai & the UK.

Some one should just bolt as fast as they can.... See what happens
  • she doesn't get off the bit no matter how quick or slow they go, I thought her last win was her most impressive, should be a track gallop

Rears in barriers, as gates open, only way i can see, even then she may be let fully go and still win, all about putting pressure on her eyeball to eyeball, hoe she never looses :)

you're absolutely right only an injury can stop Black Caviar from winning..!!!

    Can't see her losing.

BC awesome, Hay List not far behind.

For a fleeting moment, I thought the mare was in a little trouble at around the 200, but she flattened out like the legend that she is and got away.

Can't see her backing up again next weej, she was tested big time today.

I heard a good quote during the week, Hay List is the equine Stuart McGill, Black Caviar is the equine Shane Warne.

Barring an injury in running or being pocketed, on what we've all seen, she can't be beaten, at least not by this lot in Aust.
On a slow pace she wins, on a fast pace she wins, either pattern hasn't made a difference.
Most of her times haven't been that earth shattering quick, except for yesterday, due to fact she hasn't been extended in most of her races. Interesting she came home her last 200m yesterday in only 11.4sec when she's run 55.53 for the 1000m. Then have a look at the 600-400m split, 9.98sec, then followed that up with a 10.4sec, so for that 400m sectional she's covered it in 20.38sec, that's what breaks hearts.
Maybe they should see if she's field shy, they haven't tried that one on her! I can't recall any horse rolling up on her outside in any stage of a bend race, probably because she's going too quick to do that!
The only way she could possibly get beat is if she decides she doesn't want to race anymore, mares can do that. Hopefully Moody would see the signs before she takes it onto the track.

Secretariats heart was 3 times the size of a normal horse, Phar Laps was twice the size, the ability to sustain speed is about keeping blood/oxygen pumping at the highest rate. I reckon she may have a heart size somewhere up with these 2 champions.

Over 3200 or in a steeplechase.

    Barrier doesn't open

That would make her a late scratching so technically not beaten.

If other horses pressured her rather than just jogging 5 lengths behind her once the gate opens she'll lose. Leaving it all up to Hay List is a joke. Connections must be paying the other horses off surely. I've never seen a bigger farce in my entire life.

They ran 55sec for a 1000m with Buffering and Hay List keeping her honest and that was jogging    i hate to see them run along then   ??? what part of thats bloody quick dont you understand ??
Why would others who maybe are not on pace speed horses want to cut there own throat by sitting up front punching on with her absolute mindless

Time completely irrelevent dungy. Reckon the track was set up to play very fast. Don't forget that they ran just over 2min for the 2000m and broke the course record for a dead track

Looks a bit out of place...unless Cheviot beach is going to be the next makybe diva.
