Should be a good race, if it gets a decent field, anyone know any entries for it yet?

Think I heard Marasco and presume Dante's Volonte may use this as his last hit out before the Goodwood.

Tarzi over the 1200m?

Any comments about the race or talk about possible fields?

    for sure,i like seeing marasco race(get quite upset when he doesnt have luck)

    i dont have much to add btw :lol: other than likely weights DV 54,Marasco 60...

    all i would like is 1)a decent sized field(which may be doubtful lets face it) and 2)some speed on and ponty steering marasco...hope he runs on really well,will be hard pressed getting within a couple of DV i suspect..esp. if there's a lack of speed!

    Marasco wont get within lengths on DV at level weights all that might happen is we might get a bit better than 1.50 on DV in the ring ,GIDDYUP

    In all seriousness this race should be a beauty - if it ends up being a small field as one would imagine then having Marasco sit on the coat tails of DV and trying to run him down could make for a great race

    Whilst Scenic Blast was more suited to the sprint when he met DV, he gave him 8kgs and went down by 3.75 lengths - so the maximum weight difference in this would be 6kgs, with no allowance allowed for Noske.

    And Marasco is more suited to the 1400m to 1600m journey.

    Dante's Volonte is currently rated 102
    Marasco is currently rated 114

    Should be a great race nonetheless!

    Unless you know more than Shanghai or your mail is more recent -

    If everything goes well,he then head to Sth Aus, and if in order should give a brave showing- hopefully he will run good, and after the race we will see how he pulls up and never know,I havnt looked ,but there might be something in Melb or SYdney before heading home, If I'am paying to fly him over there he might as well have one more race if he keeps his form and stays sound.

    I will discuss with simon when I get home.

    Incorrect. My contact tells me as late as yesterday that the horse worked perfectly and not only will run Saturday, but win easily.

    Its no big secret Simon Barras has stated that DV will run in the Andretti then of to the Goody he just wins

    If Marasco doesn't run in the Miss Andretti, they may as well just give the trophy to Shanghai! Won't even be worth doing form on the race!

    Although as a bolters chance, I like Northwater Boy to fill a minor placing, his first up run was very good.

    This field ,if it holds up will be the best field Dantes would of had to race against, for sure and it has some size. Dantes will have to be at his best,tactics by the other horses will determine alot that goes on in the race,Jarrod will have to be carefull the senior jocks don't try to box him in.
    However if form holds true ,he should just win,but in horse racing you never know.
