Think that is because it has been winning and jumping up the ratings. When it ran 3rd it did not go up ratings or weight.
and that liquidation has one a listed race
In time it could attract that sort of money with the right results though imo.
$800,000 was offered for liquidation
a gelding that's won a listed race in perth by a neck. i would've given them a rug, bridle and work saddle. and that's not knocking the horse at all it goes good but 800k is 800k!
and i don't think phenomenons is worth a mill either. has won 2 or 3 saturday races has it not? might be in the future but not yet? fair trade won a saturday first start then bolted in a group race it's second start in melbourne, they got close to 2mill. that's the type of horse that is worth that kind of money imo. if they're worth a million then what is rebel raider or whobegotyou or fravashi, nicconi, heart of dreams worth??
100% agreed that $800k is enormous
It can be viewed in different ways.
Would the deceased person have sold for that amount or was it a condition that the horse never be sold.
The horse is highly unlikely to win that amount of prizemoney, even $400000 is an ask. A Derby or Railway Stakes is a pre-requisite win.
Maybe the owners are screaming rich and they just want the pleasure of watching a horse race and who could blame them.
I think 99% of owners would have taken the amount offered as it is overs.
Good luck to the owners and I hope they have a lot of fun with him.
To borrow a line from Rosco, put your house on him.
Gee has there ever been such a stupid comment on here :D
How can i get my bets on ??? Whos betting on this years Derby?
