    railings to win.

other than that, race 6 i really like blue's guitar, looked thru the race thoroughly, has a 2kg claim from noske and barrier 1. only ones that can challenge are st pierre, goldy junior and fire of denmark i feel. st pierre and fire of denmark are in good form but i just think with noske aboard and the 1600m blues he mite have an edge. tad outclassed last start in a 73 race but before that ran on really well behind reassess in a trial. in regards to goldy junior he beat blues by bit over 3 lengths last start over 1400m. but that start he carried 2.5 less kgs and the extra 200m is an advantage for blues guitar. blues also pulled extremely hard during that race. he also has best barrier goldy junior and fire of denmark have outside barriers. just what i think anyway

Blue's Guitar : Last win was at Derby not in a Derby , connections would have some explaining to do if it won :o

    I'll say it again..........poor Railings.

I know horses can't talk but the connections must be the proverbial box of hammers..

unbelievable they persevere with railings i agree.

reckon ill be on gilded venom also, annenkov and doyoudare in a trify...

cant see how bold scene can beat doyoudare home with the weight turnaround so i'll leave him out.

Will this be our race day thread?(il assume yes),see a few i like early doors.

    Proud Falcon in the last.
Going to speculate Keytomoney can handle 1400 and roll oroya gold and co. has only had the one try at the trip and wasnt disgraced.I really liked his last run.
Jacita has learnt how to win finally, not a strong race and "mappa's" claim is advantageous.
Fire of Denmark looks to be CC's winner,is a run on type so being back in the field wont worry him too much.Goldy with pat morita's son on top might run the quinella, goes alright this one imo.

On what grounds are people tipping railings?

I'd love to see him win one more so MAYBE his connections would let him go out on a high, but cripes - how can you tip him 'ere.
  • vlahsvlahs    203 posts
on the grounds that if he finds his best form he will win easily. the fact he has a quality trainer now who knows what he is doing. and on melbourne cup day he really showed he was improving again. dont no what happened last start but u can do much worse than having money on railings.

    Roger James?

    that's it.

i'd rather beck mooshun crutucal over railings, even at wfa. butwaitheresmore and mc are the two to beat in the cup for mine. i'm not entirely convinced annenkov stays strongly anymore. his best runs seem to be at the mile/1800m lately anyway.
  • vlahsvlahs    203 posts
his run was just nothing? finishing 2 lengths of the winner on melb cup day is a decent run at an unsuitable trip. didnt handle the wet in ballarat cup wich is an obvious excuse. whose gonna beat him?

bold scene ran like shit last start, wallace says gilded venom is training on poorly and misbehaving. annenkov uve sed urself is more of an 1600m 1800m horse. mission critical? from same stable as railings, prob best chance to beat him. guyno, first up over 2100m, give me a break. the fuzz is not in same class as railings, doyoudare has beaten no1 apart from merely decent locals over distances, and dante dash and mikaldico i dont think so.
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
Gilded Venom cant even beat maidens in trackwork - dont go taking much notice of that.

Good Luck with your selection of Railings - think its a 500/1 shot myself
  • vlahsvlahs    203 posts
haha i dont seem to have any support. i just want him to run well. i think hes a great horse and deserves to show his best again. and i think in this field he gets his chance
  • vlahsvlahs    203 posts
thats fair enough mate. i backed him for a fair bit on that day and watched him closely and thought his run was half decent but i guess ihave only seen the race once. admittedly i did expect him to run better in the kingston town, at least finish midfield. he has to improve here, but i guess there is a question mark as to what degree he does improve to, thats if waht ur saying about his melb cup run is correct, i thought it was much better than what u are saying. do u no where i can see that race again?

since he won the caulfield cup he has had 28 starts, been placed 4 times (13,14,15 and 24 starts ago) and been beaten a total of 196.1 lengths. i just could not possibly back him at gunpoint on that alone.

or even take it from when he started going terrible after the 2007 bmw - it's still 112 lengths,12 starts and no placings. and on top of that simply there is no way he can turn around the 10.7 lengths on gilded venom at the same weight scale. would be a turnaround of glastonbury proportions.
