    guys! r u serious
railings ran superb on melb cup day. he just didnt handle going in ballarat cup. he had a stint at another trainer, cant memba his name that really was useless to him. but moroney has worked him well and hes starting to find form. im on him for perth cup for sure.

    as for this w.e
gotta go with niconero, hope marasco runs well and also action pak who should race fwd and has won over 1800 in strickland before, i wouldnt be surprised if he ran a race.

Just watched the Railway Stakes replay for the 5th time. For a while, I was all Niconero, But I might be swaying back to Gilded Venom. Could be another Modem. My only concern about Niconero is that he's a non-winner. $5.00 isn't great value. Gilded Venom just keeps winning.

Who are these people who continue to back Marasco???

Sportsbet Media manager Glenn Munsie reported Marasco is the best backed in early betting firming from $7.50 into $7. "We have taken $7,200 in bets on Marasco compared to $800 on Niconero"
  • vlahsvlahs    203 posts
haha pretty sure in perth they back marasco in every race, no matter what the distance or opposition.

I think TABsportsbet tell the truth - the NT corporates Im not so sure about - especially those supposed $1 million bets that bob up every now and then that get them publicity.

its goin to be a great moment if marasco can get up in it , i guess he got harvey back on might be the reason the money is coming

Jeepers too many cats have too much money in WA! They just throw it at him every start. I actually think he's a decent chance in this with the draw and the jock but near favourite???? I could get $6 of $7 about Niconero :D :D .

I coulnt care if D Beadman was riding it he wont get mine again especially in a gr-1 race he aint upto them simple as that FRK looking very desperate ,he was flat out at WFA beating Danny Beau and Hadblkorka last sat and in the Winterbottom the start before at WFA he we beat old Hartleys Spirit home by less than 2L ,oh well thats my opinion just think the horse has also been up for way to long FRK had him ready for a few races over the Spring so he was upto the mark and we are now December -IMO

and i'd rather take that. herculian effort if marasco can go 1600m 1200m and 1800m three weeks in a row and win. then what? does he back up in the scahill at 1400m? looks like fred's half pie got jack of cotton wooling the horse and thought "bugger it i'll just bore it up him!" will probably get the sook out of him. hat's off if he can do it.

Paul Harvey isn't riding in good form, can't see why he's going to make a difference to Marasco. Just had a look at his stats over the last 3 years and Harvey's win % has dropped form 27% to 17%, i think FRK is hoping he might make a difference.

Snipers Bullet for me, good weight pull on Gilded Venom who i think is a chance and from memory Sniper's Bullet was making good ground on the winner.

i wasn't judging fred at all i'm a massive fan of his. think he's a genius. was just trying to work out why the horse is racing like he is (not that i'm against it at all i think these days horses get mollycoddled far more than they used to be, too much in fact.) so there was nothing unjust or judgemental intended in that comment and i'm sorry if you saw it that way but in no way was i having a shot at anybody. i'd heard from someone that knows the horse that the horse is a bit of a sook/smart arse so that's where that came from.

and i do agree with you that the e.i vaccine does knock horses around.

Think Marasco will be ridden VERY aggressively in this, doesnt have any other choice.
  • wozzawozza    233 posts
Harves will give him a kick in the guts and a whack on the arse behind the gates and it'll be all over red rover.
Marasco meets them a lot better at the weights.

He couldnt win even if he didnt have a jock on -fair Dinkum there are some stupid punters in Perth that keep backing THE IMPOSTER !!!! small state syndrome strikes again
  • HotJulesHotJules    229 posts
I like the confidence around Sniper's Bullet. Agree with thh trainer that he is going to be hard to toss. Grand Nirvana's last run was full of merit and will be having a little saver on him too.
The gay deceiver Marasco might find a spot in the third box of my trifecta. I actually thought his best chance was last week but not to be, it is a crab for punters.

i notice cris is announcing this race as a hcp :D

marasco for me though the way he hung in last start maybe he has some problems never been the same horse since melbourne campain was there cox plate day and he looked shocking just like a troter but if he won an iam not on would have to slash my wrist love to see him silence knockers
  • ColdyColdy    1,720 posts
Seems to be a lot of horses here who have turned into, back me next time, but they dont get up, which annoys me, no end. That being said. If forced to have a bet in this race, i may play it: Gilded Venom,Annenkov ,West River Charley. If i can get $80S on stab on WRC tommorow, i may have a small invest.:) Very tricky race. Flexi tri may be a good option

Can't believe Marasco is fave. I'm not an anti-Marasco supporter, quite the opposite but he would have to have a zero to impossible chance tomorrow.
