The Belmont Trench - is it back or still there?

Race 5 today Marcos took a real dip during the race today down the straight. Would have been a real scare for Chris Parnham who has only just come back from a fall.

Just wondering for those who saw if the stumble on the straight was at the same location of the infamous "trench" that saw races moved away from Belmont previously?

    I would think unlikely as it actually never seemed to be in play once the rain arrived which it had by race 5 today.  It was more when the track was dry the unevenness between the trench and the rest of the track caused issues

    Track inspection with the stewards commencing 5 minutes before Race 6. Surely that could've been commenced near-on immediately after the race?

    I heard that it was the same "trench" that caused trouble over the last couple of years, and that was from somebody who is very close to the source. I was at the track and we spoke just after the race, at first I thought it may have been a bit closer to the winning post but apparently not

    I see the stewards comments say blundered at the 125m when the previous issues they would say at the 150m.  So can’t be the same issue……….. :D

    That was a long time ago mate, now they've sold off heaven knows what parts of the racecourse and are not game to do too much too the track I assume as they have been expecting trillions of dollars to eventually flow in to their coffers. Reality is you and I will be dead before the track gets any major makeover and returns to its former glory. Maybe we could get a cash boost if we rename the river after a certain person who completely shagged the whole process with a strike of the evil pen ?

    Did anyone read the couple of paragraphs in The West where Steve Wolfe said this track needs Urgent attention with these horses Stumbling and they should listen if we remember he knows all about horses at Belmont Stumbling

    Now before you ssy oh thats a different climate over there The Gold Coast Turf Club Aquis Park Race EVERY SATURDAY All Year Round and Plenty of Heavy 10s and it’s a Only a Provincial Track, they have planes to Brizzy or The Goldy lets get the Curator over there
