It would be very interesting for the Gordon Gekko's of our industry to be under oath :)

Been betting for a fair while re decent bets exclusively in NSW , with the exception of Menangle of course

But Super keen on one at Penrith tonight - Race 7 no 9 Mister Quirk  @ the $26 - you can only go on its efforts in NSW , its last 2 runs - in particular its last run , where it did a mountain of work in slick time over the long distance and stuck on really good  - back to the sprint trip tonight which will suit

My only concern is , and not suggesting anything untoward but they have stood down recently about 5-6 trainers in NSW , blokes who  improve horses . And Mr Quirk had not form at all in SA , on those runs they would have bought the horse for about a grand tops

Interesting race this - the 2 equal faves at Even money , one trained by the son Michael and the other trained by the father Ian Stanley , lets hope there is a bit of ill feeling between the 2 of them  - and they declare each other on .

I posted this back in July 25 - commentating about the amazing improvement in Mister Quirk - its won 6 races ( and won Frid night at Penrith ) since Josh Farrugia  bought it and took over its training - as i mentioned at the time , it had no form at all at Globe Derby under the previous trainers

And im not suggesting anything untoward at all , but Josh must be one of the best trainers in Aust i reckon

He has bought a mare called Miss Blue Stork who was a terrible low class horse , raced around Dubbo and Parkes on a Friday night - would start 100-1 to 150-1 no good at all

Its last start for the previous trainer 8th of 10 beaten 20 metres  2.01 over 1700 metres very slow mile rate - 4 back the pegs , struggling at the bell - watch its replay Boxing night 26/12 at Dubbo race 6  - the previous trainer must have been feeding it cream cakes !!!

Then Josh F bought and  trained the horse - won 3 out  of 4 commanding victories , have a look at its latest victory , Penrith last Frid night  race 3 - 20/3 - won by over 20 metres in 1.54.7 and started  at $1.33

Is that the same horse ???? - like i say im not suggesting anything untoward , but in 60 plus years of following Trotting  ive never seen a horse improve like this thing

I wonder if the war is prolonged what the effect will be on Harness racing in WA? Has there been any information from Racing WA about how racing will adapt or continue should energy prices continue to rise?

For some context we travelled over 300ks return on Sunday to race at Bridgetown, excellent meeting etc, and paid $2.93 per litre for diesel. This was with one horse, who ran last. Whilst a $50 subsidy was kindly made available from the clubI didn’t take this up as taking funds from a community organisation didn’t sit well at this point. As I write this, diesel in the area I live in has just gone up to $3.05 too, the first time it has gone over $3.

Can anyone tell me how many positive swabs it use to be before you got life?

    It should be one.

Due to probable legal challenges it is a rarity these days for positive swabs and more so drivers/jockeys charged for not giving horses best possible opportunity in a race

The problem with the industry and the powers to be is it welcomes back recidivists with open arms.  People with more than 3 positives are welcomed back by the administrators. What also dosent help is we clearly have either the most incompatent stewards panel or the actually dont give a f*ck. Im torn as to which one it is.

Never seen a horse in my lifetime climb off the canvas and win as many tim

i think people are very quick to forget that alot of the decisions made out on the track are very much split second decisions if that, if we were to charge every driver/jockey for every wrong rein they pulled in the heat of competition we wouldnt have any left
