Race 1: ON THE BALL STATEWIDE BEARINGS SPRINT (1200m)

A tricky start with several first-starters and trial form to decode. TREASURED LEGACY looks the professional here. Her trial at Lark Hill was a standout, winning by 6.7 lengths with plenty in reserve. She’s drawn well and has the benefit of a leading jockey in Clint Johnston-Porter. DIXIE DOO is the main threat; she showed significant improvement second-up to finish fourth at Ascot and will appreciate the slight step up in trip.

  • Recommended Bet: Medium (1.5 Units) – TREASURED LEGACY ($2.40)

  • Bomb: ACE SNIPER ($15.00) – Blinkers on for the debut after a soft trial win.

HorseRoleComment
TREASURED LEGACYSelectionDominant trial winner ready to fire on debut.
DIXIE DOODangerFitter for two runs and showed good late speed last start.

Market (105%): Treasured Legacy $2.30, Dixie Doo $4.50, Properata $7.00, Ace Sniper $12.00, Mind Heist $15.00, Others $20.00+

Race 2: BUNBURY BRIGHTER HANDICAP (1200m)

SEVEN CANDLES is the horse to beat here. He’s coming off a narrow second at Ascot in a Westspeed Mile, and while he’s dropping back in distance, his class edge at this level is significant. He’s a winner at 1300m and 1600m, so he’ll be strongest late. GIRLS DAY OUT is the clear danger. She’s a model of consistency, sitting on the speed and fighting hard, as seen in her recent Ascot win.

  • Recommended Bet: High (2 Units) – SEVEN CANDLES ($2.05)

HorseRoleComment
SEVEN CANDLESSelectionMassive class drop and extremely well-weighted here.
GIRLS DAY OUTDangerSpeed influence who won't quit in the straight.

Market (105%): Seven Candles $1.95, Girls Day Out $4.00, Hostile Talk $8.00, Playing Rio $12.00, Lash Out $15.00, Others $25.00+

Race 3: REDINK RUN HANDICAP (1675m)

SHAMILIAN MISS strikes a very winnable race here. She was excellent winning at Pinjarra last start over 1600m, coming from well back to score. She stays at a similar weight and has a great record over the mile. MY AUTHORITAH is the interesting runner. He’s first-up after a decent break, but his class is undeniable—having contested the WA Guineas last prep. If he’s fit enough, he’ll be right in the finish.

  • Recommended Bet: Best Bet (3 Units) – SHAMILIAN MISS ($2.90)

HorseRoleComment
SHAMILIAN MISSSelectionLast start winner who maps perfectly for a repeat.
MY AUTHORITAHDangerHigh-quality three-year-old with superior class ratings.

Market (105%): Shamilian Miss $2.50, My Authoritah $4.50, Bird's The Word $7.50, Old Mate Henry $10.00, Decoration $12.00, Others $20.00+

Race 4: CITY & REGIONAL FUELS HANDICAP (2000m)

LILLIAN has been in imperious form, winning her last four starts. Her victory at Ascot over 2200m was clinical, and while she stays up in weight, she simply knows how to win. AUDIO BOY is the horse to save on. He’s been the bridesmaid lately with four consecutive seconds, including a narrow loss to Lillian last time. He’s 2.5kg better off at the weights today, which could be the equalizer.

  • Recommended Bet: Speculative (1 Unit) – LILLIAN ($2.05)

  • Saver: AUDIO BOY ($6.50)

HorseRoleComment
LILLIANSelectionLooking for five straight; the benchmark in this grade.
AUDIO BOYDangerGets a significant weight swing to reverse recent results.

Market (105%): Lillian $2.10, Audio Boy $4.20, Dennis Choux $8.00, True Player $10.00, Great Fortune $15.00, Others $20.00+

Race 5: WILLIAM BARRETT & SONS VASE (1200m)

SNIPPY WHICH looks primed for this. He won well at Belmont two starts back and wasn't disgraced in a high-rating race at Ascot last time out. He’s very reliable at this distance. ZING TO WIN is the main danger, dropping back from a tough fourth at Ascot. He’s an eight-time winner and is rarely far away in this class.

  • Recommended Bet: Medium (1.5 Units) – SNIPPY WHICH ($2.70)

HorseRoleComment
SNIPPY WHICHSelectionConsistent performer with a high cruising speed.
ZING TO WINDangerProven weight carrier who loves the 1200m.

Market (105%): Snippy Which $2.80, Zing To Win $4.50, Just Walter John $6.00, Zouboltz $8.50, Galway Shawl $12.00, Others $20.00+

Race 6: BUNBURY VOLKSWAGEN HANDICAP (1200m)

This is a cracking three-year-old race. WATTO'S MARK was very impressive winning at Ascot last start, showing a great turn of foot. He’s a horse on the up. SWINGMAN is the danger; he pushed Watto’s Mark to a narrow margin last time and is now second-up. He’s got enough speed to settle forward and will be hard to catch.

    • Recommended Bet: High (2 Units) – WATTO'S MARK ($2.10)

    HorseRoleComment
WATTO'S MARKSelectionProgressive type who won with authority last start.
SWINGMANDangerFitter for the first-up run and maps to lead or sit second.

    Market (105%): Watto's Mark $2.10, Swingman $4.00, Country God $7.00, Champagne Crusader $10.00, Others $18.00+

Race 7: TABTOUCH BUNBURY STAKES (1400m)

The feature race of the day and it’s a wide-open affair. LONDON'S IMAGE gets the nod here after a tough win in the Pinjarra Classic. She’s a winner at the track and distance and Lucy Fiore knows her well. TALKANCO is the massive danger. She was only 0.2 lengths behind London's Image last start and gets a 2kg weight advantage today.

    • **Recommended Bet:**Speculative (1 Unit) – LONDON'S IMAGE ($5.00)

    • Saver: TALKANCO ($3.00)

    HorseRoleComment
LONDON'S IMAGESelectionClassy mare who thrives in high-pressure handicaps.
TALKANCODangerMeets the selection much better at the weights today.

    Market (105%): Talkanco $3.20, London's Image $5.00, Bustler $8.00, Cool Memory $9.00, Sensessional $12.00, Others $15.00+

Race 8: SWAN DRAUGHT BUNBURY CUP (2000m)

The Cup is usually a test of stamina, and REDBACK FLYER has plenty of it. His win at Ascot two starts back was dominant, and he didn't have much luck in the Detonator. He’s ready for the 2000m. ROCKING SOCIETY is the danger; he was an eye-catcher finishing second in the Detonator and looks to be peaking at the right time.

    • **Recommended Bet:**speculative (1 Unit) – REDBACK FLYER ($3.80)

    • Bomb: ARCADIA PARK ($15.00) – Massive effort for third in the Detonator; over the odds.

    HorseRoleComment
REDBACK FLYERSelectionBuilding towards this peak performance; suited by the trip.
ROCKING SOCIETYDangerHit the line strongly last start and is a major player.

Market (105%): Redback Flyer $3.80, Rocking Society $5.50, Arcadia Park $9.00, Fancy Red $10.00, Fear The Wind $12.00, Others $15.00+

    Race 9: MGIB HANDICAP (1400m)

We’ll finish the day with ANTIQUE STAR. She was very good first-up, finishing second to Platinum Shot after being out-toughed late. She’ll be much fitter for that and Michael Grantham has her firing. PLATINUM SHOT is the logical danger; she won that encounter and remains in great form, though she does have to contend with a wider gate today.

    • Recommended Bet: Medium (1.5 Units) – ANTIQUE STAR ($1.60 - Note: Short price, look for value in multiples)

    HorseRoleComment
ANTIQUE STARSelectionFitter for the first-up run and has the class to prevail.
PLATINUM SHOTDangerWinning machine who will be hard to beat again.

Market (105%): Antique Star $1.90, Platinum Shot $4.00, Essentric Nature $8.00, Cashel Palace $10.00, Others $18.00+

Not taking any part in race 1

    Race 2

    #10 Show The Way - W

#2 Corn Cob - It won't be going around at odds like that with a 3kg claimer on it without some of my money on it. - W/P

Race 3 - Western Lady - going to try get $2 the place for a save - W/P

I can't see My Authoritah getting up first up over 1600m+

    Race 4

#10 Manzor Magic - it's ready to win - EW

Audio Boy is a habitual non winner I'm over that horse.

    Race 5

#12 Desert Life - gets in well and should get a place price enough to cover if he doesn't win - E/W

    Race 6

#5 Swing Man - EW - should be fitter and the main threat has been up for a bit although in good form.

    Race 6

#9 Elite Missile - she will be prone for this. - W/P

I'll have a bit on Cool Memory also first up.

    Race 7

    #5 Arcadia Park - W/P - That's all

    Race 8

#7 Antique Star - W - that should top us right up at the end of the day.

In the first Treasured Legacy. Looks like a very good filly out of a dreadfully slow mare called Prized Miss. Bob must have known something about the mare to even send her to Stud because he doesn't normally lower his standards that much.

I really like the way Ace Sniper trialled and she might be lurking somewhere near the finish.

Neville Parnham's Here The Boom finished well in a muddling race last time out getting through traffic and may improve again but these first two mentioned look to have her covered.

When was the last time Bob had a decent two year old ?

Gee that's harsh calling her dreadfully slow. Won on debut and beat Smashing into 3rd. Smashing was beaten 2.7L in a Listed race a couple of weeks earlier. Also, in just 9 starts managed to place in Saturday company beaten less than a length.

Looks more like the Dam and less like the trial. Maybe Bob needs to wait for a bit before he gets the gun two year old.

Here The Boom did improve. I hope those that punt maybe took some of the each way value.
