That tells me you would make a good steward. Nothing to see.

I backed the winner  and watched the replay several times and I would also not be a good steward...

maybe you just have it out for certain people.? Kind of like that race a couple of months ago where you criticised jnr for he's drive on bealawyer I believe it was, yet didnt say anything about the driver on the leader, who was attempting to hold the front on a horse that historically handed up at every chance , funny that . Go hand your resume in to rwwa for a stewards position since the current stewards arent policing the rules to the standard youd like and put your money where your mouth is

Too busy to watch GP Frid night - thus just watched the replay of race 5 - and then i watched the start - 1st 400 metres or so , and i cant see anything wrong with  how any horse in that race was driven

What you have to factor in the winner won by 15 metres - last 800 in 55.5 good luck anything coming from behind it out wide on the track

The 2 Bond runners who were in the market - The Little Master who is an honest horse thats it - drew gate 7 - its 3-4 wide it had no option but to go back - he thus went to the pegs - it had no hope being last in the running line . The other one if it had come out 3 wide at the bell it would have run no where given the 55.5 last 800 , thus Deni has weaved its way through finished nicely to run 3rd

Nothing to see in that race

hit the nail on the head i thought the bond runners were driven just fine when considering how the race was run

Another one who’s watched the replay several times and seen nothing wrong with any tactics. Why don’t you enlighten us Warren?

but do you think its worthy of being dragged into the stewards over, that 30 second 2nd quarter over a mile in fast class company probably deters alot of drivers coming wide the last lap
  • sonnysonny    1,536 posts
Fair Call  But Tualou took the sit three out and so TLM would be on his back also getting the cart up.. If the driver ,trainer and owners are happy then nothing to see.. Thats my opinion for what its worth...

yea I mean thats a fair call , bit of a case of hindsight but in saying that I think tualou is the better horse and its run was one of the runs of the night, for TLM to sit on he's back and just to keep up with him would of been a massive effort

I’d still be interested in what you thought Warren, we’re all entitled to an opinion

    Who mentioned the Bond horses?
  • GilgameshGilgamesh    5,004 posts
TLM was never going to be suited in that race. Leader was always likely leader, breeze horse always likely breeze - it needs an upside down race.

Would have loved to have seen Robbie Williams go forward on his horse as it looked to me he could have easily got a spot and then cover, I thought he could get 1,1 but probably would have ended up 1,2 behind Hotly Pursued. But that is just a preference of how I would have liked it - feel the horse is bursting to win a race but hasn't really been given the optimal chance for a while now.

An uncompetitive race but hardly unexpected or exceptional, it happens - doesn't mean any wrong doing.

tualou hit the line exceptionally and TLM was held up for a run so based on how they were traveling at the end you could say maybe they were both under driven slightly in saying that the way the race was run i dont think you could of driven them any different

Well i did because they were the only 2 that you could say were slightly under driven , hardly worthy of having their driving tactics queried but if you were to sit down and watch the replay there was absolutely nothing else you could slightly query
  • Chopchop43Chopchop43    435 posts
Maybe you might be able to enlighten us as too who warren was referring too, I cant speak.on behalf of everyone on this forum but it would be fair to say the majority of us who watched the replay have no idea who he is on about

It was Marko who first mentioned the Bond runners.

my apologies marko did first, me and sonny both outlined afterwards that they were the only 2 drives you could possibly take issue with , still not sure what your getting at ?? Didnt seem like anything wrong with the race at all
  • GilgameshGilgamesh    5,004 posts
Realistically it does just seem for most there were in fact no very interesting drives to be seen in the race.

Warren seems to differ but also seems unwilling to want to clarify his comments.

$8.50 chance that led up the 3 wide line for the bell ran last.
Horses that were in the market but were no chance due to race shape that held up at the back ran on nicely.

Which option is the correct one to take??

if you drew bad and weren't able to end up close enough to the leading brigade in the run taking short cuts and having a horse for next week seems the logical option
