    So in the past 6 months, we've had the trench at Belmont and this absolute debacle. Both have gained significant national attention which has dented punter confidence and frankly embarrassed the sport here. The boss James Oldring has been unbelievable in my opinion in getting Ascot and the Pinnacles/Quokka to where they are in a relatively short time, but these sorts of occurrences must be seriously testing the tolerance levels.

    It is very clear who the people are to blame in both instances. It is really clear that they should both be removed from their positions too in my opinion. To "admonish" them is not even close to an option.

    Alleged---- Wasn't the alert rang in from a trainer from his loungeroom, to another trainer who asked the swab attended is that the right horse, because they only write the brands down. Think brands are 1/2 E A.---. URQ BLUFF 2/1.

    Problem --Need punters with accounts to be reimbursed win dividend on Xentro, less deductions regarding El Alamein as scratching 13 cents the dollar.
    People in tab agencies should be afforded the chance to fill out lost claims form there returns subject to deductions
    .
    The winning Exotics to stand as have been paid out.
    All other novelty bets should be refunded. in account's or lost claim forms in agencies, alot punters wouldn't both
    Fair way for the life blood of industry the punter.

    Multiple calls to media outlets this morning for an "Independent Review" into the Racing Industry.

    What a novel idea, where have I heard that before? For the past 6 years?

    The time has come for a Parliamentary Inquiry into RWWA. JayJay has been calling for this for years but no political party have the guts to pursue it.

    Rwwa is an event management company, they manage fashions on the field contests. Looking after the integrity of racing is so far down the ladder. Yesterdays debacle just highlights it. Nobody missed out on the trip to Broome though! All the long term Rwwa teet suckers were there.

    If they're going to scan the chip, it should be in the birdcage prior to the race if you're trying to protect punters.

    Horses are scanned on entering the track and scanned again in the stall area before the race,
    scanning placegetters after the race before correct weight (as PItboss has mentioned) would be added insurance and stop any ineligible horses being declared the winner like yesterday.

    It's stupid how form guides show El Alamein being disqualified and Urquharts Bluff not running. The form should show Urquharts Bluff being disqualified and El Alamein not running because that is the reality.

    I’ve seen officials at our local track scan the horse once saddled. Is this not common procedure if so he has no excuse for laziness.

    At the end of the day, thoroughbred horse racing is such a huge contributor to the economy and it ought to be managed and conducted accordingly.
    The perception at the moment is that it is not upholding its responsibility here in WA. There is a fairly large difference between the expectation and the reality.

    At the trots (GP) city ,horses are scanned upon entering the course and then again before entering the parade ring before their race where their gear and equipment are checked visually.
    Also officials stand by the gate exiting the track checking for broken gear or any ailment which may of occurred during race like bleeding from nostrils etc. 
    In the the country horses are scanned at least once, which is before they enter parade ring which would be more appropriate then just the once when entering course, which could be some hours before the race at the gallops.

    It's a job for a Cadet Steward if such a program exists. Someone who acts on behalf of the Steward in Charge of the meeting. That person could also walk the area of the race day stalls looking for other anomalies. Being proactive should be a foundation of RWWA, not just reactionary as it appears to have been for several years.

    And the AI form comments from the big corporates can’t pick it up.  Both Ladbrokes and Sportsbet form comments mention El Alamein racing on the quick back up after being dq’d 7 days ago.

    Xentaro won well today and El Alamein was poor. Rubbing salt into the wound of Xentaro's backers at Northam.
