Easy to whinge but IMO they are being sensible.

They are going to cop flack (justifiable) but the decision shows some common sense and good immediate future management and primarily looking after the industry.

Pinjarra was scheduled to have one more meeting Aug 20th and then go into recess till early December (I think), the damage done this Saturday will be repaired by December. They have done a great job. The investment in Pinjarra and Bunbury has and will be worth it.

Belmont has dozens of meetings before Ascot returns, so if they raced this Saturday it would jeopardise all those if they risked racing Saturday. Bunbury too new and Northam done its job.

Pinjarra is an hour away, some wouldnt survive in Sydney if distance is an issue.

Perth racing, you guys are flying!

They should fly on the first plane out of here, this is so unacceptable it defies all logic

Think they should perhaps be calling Pinjarra off now with the forecast.  I know you can’t do that but I think there’s none they get through this meet.  Trough expected to sit over the lower west all arvo with massive rainfall expected with severe thunderstorms.  Given they have to wait 30mins after every crack of thunder……… good luck

Agree, it sticks out like a sore thumb now, surprised no horses have attempted to jump it

Todays meting could be called off because of the wind holding a heap of sand in it from the building sites adjacent.

What a shambles Perth Racing is in,back to Sat at Belmont,in the owners Vantage, scanners not working for owners discount, now no owners nibbles that use to be,members who have paid are still getting sent yearly invoices.

Is the trench actually a thing anymore, hard to spot the difference now.

It's still visible if you really look for it, but agree it's now hard to spot and if you didn't know it existed you would not see it

Will they race on Wednesday at Belmont ? If the forecast is correct I'd say highly unlikely they'll be on, certainly not at Belmont anyway. Pinjarra is a no go zone so it's got to be Northam or Bunbury if Belmont is not risked

I actually agree it seems to have blended in much better now and obviously once the wheather warms up it’ll be exactly the same as the rest of the straight.

But I wonder if DMac got a quiet talking to about his call in race 3 on Sat where he said the horses were at the “trench”.

D-day for Belmont today... could be a struggle for the rest of the season after they race on the Heavy 8 (9 or 10) today I reckon
