Unlucky Vincent. Gee Darren can get a winner's name wrong in a big race.

I’m travelling at the moment but from what I can see on the phone, it was an ordinary day for WA bred horses in the two year old race

7 horses sired by eastern staters. They finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 12th. The 7 WA sired horses went poorly. If it wasn't for Westspeed.....

When Western Australia’s best stallion is a sire of 3yo+ type horses is it really a surprise?

Can someone tell me if it is the norm for stewards to allow a horse to arrive on the racecourse half a hour before the race I always thought it was a hour and 2hrs if it was a feature race. My facts could be wrong though.

You are correct. Strictly an hour before and 2 hours for feature races,

Thanks,Desperado so would you be asking a few questions to the stewards if you were the owners of the place getters.

That is correct, but stewards often are leniant under certain circumstances , like road works etc

One hour before,-- But having two punctures, they would have made contact with stewards explaining the situation, compassion component you have got until 20- minutes prior, we then have no other option but to scratch your horse.
If no contact is made different story.

If the connections were in conversation with stewards why, then I think great that Stipes, used a bit of discretion.

You sound like a sore loser

I think its fair enough, two punctures…. As if one isnt bad enough

No I wouldn’t be asking questions under the circumstances the girl done a great job to get there. Good on her well done she has. She has done a good job with the horse. Good ride to boot. Got a share in one of the place getters Gramps

WA's best stallion beats up on substandard opposition. He now has 8 crops of racing age with his oldest being 9yos.
Can you believe he doesn't have a single stakeswinner outside of W.A? Would any of his 22 stakeswinners be any good in the east? He is a really good stallion that throws heaps of horses with good ability but they seem to have a ceiling that is a bit lower than what you'd expect from a stallion around the 50k service fee range. He has 2 G1 winners in Bustler and Kay Cee. Not really the types to send east to compete at WFA level.

For context, sires like Maschino, Universal Ruler, Gingerbread Man and Awesome Rock have many fewer stakeswinners but have progeny that have won stakes races in the east.

For context, Dundeel sits a few spots higher than playing god on the national sires table having 277 runners compared to 127 at a service fee of 80k compared to 45k
Agree that pg doesn’t have the east coast g1s
But he doesn’t cover the east coast mares either
If he did, well I guess we’ll never know

Savethegame answered all my questions, in the past I have just heard of horses being scratched for being late on course. Yep good on her and the jock. No I haven't got a share in the place getters(wish I did) and goosie not a sore loser as didn't even have a bet in the race.

Dundeel has sired 4x the number of individual G1 winners. They have won 13 G1s to 2 G1s. They have won elite G1s like Caulfield Guineas (Super Seth), Golden Rose (Militarize), Randwick Guineas/Doncaster (Celestial Legend).
Remember Playing God progeny haven't even won a Listed Race in the east.

Like I said, pg hasn’t covered the calibre of mares that stallions above him have been afforded
Yet he only sits a few spots behind dundeel, a champion stallion, on the sires table based on dollars earned even though he’s had less than half the amount of runners and racing for less prize money
    An incredible effort
If pg had covered the quality of mares dundeel has over his career and stood on the east coast I’m pretty sure pg stock would have won some elite races

Sorry Gramps , my bad, just thought that the drama they went through just to get there, if it had run 5th this conversation would not have even reared it's head. I say good on all involved giving them every chance to get there & start, with all the drama's. The bloke in William,s who helped & the bloke who lent the float hope they ended up with a few cartons  https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1A3VbhZjvU/
