Mitchell Woodduck. He's the bloke that wrote the story about Luke Jackson after two games... then he comes out and has a season to behold.

    cred = 0

No prize for guessing who is Liam Henry's Manager. Colin Young of course as he continues every avenue to dismantle the Dockers playing list for his own short term financial gain.

What is disappointing to me is that Longmuir retains Young as his Manager while all this is going on. Indicates a lack of character from my perspective.

I think Longmuir and Young may have parted ways.
Even though I'm a Dockers supporter and we've been on the receiving end, I'll say one thing for him, he seems to do more than alright for players he represents (and himself obviously) which in the end I suppose is what he's paid to do.

If they have parted ways at least the conflict of interest is gone.

I think the AFL are being very kind if that is the correct word - in having Mark Thompson at this years GF present the Jock Mchale medal to the winning coach

I might be a Cats supporter - Gilligan said we all make mistakes - that is true - people can be very forgiving - especially if there is a genuine apology - but correct me if im wrong  - but Thompson has never made an apology for his disgraceful behaviour . Brian Cook has put  it on the public record - when he was the CEO - before the Cats had won those flags - he asked Thompson - are you using drugs - an amazing question for a CEO to ask a senior coach

Goodwin another Premiership coach - not making any accusation - however the previous president of the Melb FC - Glen Bartlett the lawyer bloke - he was that concerned about Goodwins behavior he wanted him hair tested

Justin Longmuir hasnt got the cattle at Fremantle - but at least he conducts himself properly

I dont profess to know the intricacies of the rules, but here is my view

Undoubtedly, it was not Maynards intent to make contact with Brayshaw.

However, i  think it was reasonably foreseeable that Maynard's action could result in contact with brayshaw

Also, given Brayshaw had possession of ball, he should be afforded some protection.

Thus given it was foreseeable that contact could occur, and he in fact laid him flat out - 2 weeks.

Careless Conduct - Severe Impact - High Contact = 3+ Weeks. But who knows with the lucky dip that passes as the AFL tribunal. Half the decisions are appealed and overturned anyway.

If the AFL are changing the fabric of the game to minimise any future litigation claims for concussion, why do they allow players like Angus Brayshaw who has a history of serious concussions in 2016 and 2017 and wears a helmet to continue to play this contact sport ? :-B

I notice with interest another repetitively careless tackler and bumper has come out in full support of Maynard.

As with the sling tackle, even though the intent is to stop the player, if the plater is hurt then you take responsibility for your actions.

based on that - and i don't decree to use the same crystal ball as the match review committee - id say he is out for a minimum of 2 matches

Amazing how players improve when they leave Fremantle Dickers.
Neale, Acres, Hogan, Cerra. And I am sure I have missed another dozen.:D

First time under the current finals system the same team (Melbourne) has gone out in straight sets in consecutive years. Also, the first time Melbourne have lost 4 consecutive VFL/AFL finals.

    Also.....

Past 50 Years: VFL/AFL teams to exit finals in straight sets in consecutive years:

    1972-73: Collingwood

    1975-76: Carlton

    1986-87: Sydney

    2022-23: Melbourne

    And then this news...

    R.I.P Ron Barassi

    NEWSFLASH:
The AFL will release 17 tickets to the public when ticket sales open
this morning. After the corporates snapped up their miserly allocation
of 62,340 tickets to get totally bombed on cheap champers and not
actually see a ball kicked, the Collingwood and Brisbane members got
their 17,000 each, and the MCG Members got the rest. AFL spokesperson
Fred Hairyarse said he believed the AFL was maintaining the games status
as the "peoples game". Each ticket requires the holder to attend a
compulsory Breakfast of Champions with special guest speakers Bill
Brownless and Damian Monkhurst (good luck fighting for a slice of bacon
between those two!) at the one star Dero Arms Hotel in a back alley next
to the Werribee Sewerage Farm, along with a pot of Carlton Lite which is
all inclusive in the very reasonable ticket price of $4,999. Terms and
conditions apply, book your own Uber home for $599 fixed fee (so long as
    you live in Richmond).

Well done to East Fremantle won their 30th Premiership yesterday - ending a 25 year flag drought

Their coach deserves a bit of credit - Bill Monaghan - when he joined they were a rabble - but he has turned things around reasonably quickly - steady progress each year - and now the Premiership - well done

Lachie can play the game. but tonight's win sits proudly along the likes of.
    1. Adam Cooney
    2, Shane Woewodin
    3, Matt Priddis
    4, Lachie Neale(2023)
He did not have a Brownlow year. And he knew it when he gave his speech.
This needs to change dramatically the Brownlow.
I'm a Bluebagger through and through. There is no way that Cripps gets 22 votes and Cerra gets 2. Just not possible if scored correctly.

Also the x next to the name needs to be removed. it was there for when a round arm king hit from behind got two weeks. now adays you can get 4 for a footballing action. suspended players should be eligible for the simple fact now with cameras capturing everything. YOU GET YOUR FAIR WHACK WHEN  YOU GET RUBBED OUT.
Some major changes are needed in my honest opinion to start making this award more legitimate.

Matt Priddis in 2014 deserved his Brownlow.
Made the all Australian Team that year.
Was 3rd in the league for disposals and 1st for tackles for the home and away season. Did it with and without the ball. Not many players get those stats.
Played every game and got votes in 13 of the 22 games.
Fairest player to ever play the game.
Under the umpires nose roving to Nic Nat who played 20 games that year.
I backed him at $10 to win the Brownlow when  B.O.G against Collingwoood in round 20. So he wasn`t a shock winner.

No bad player ever wins the thing, maybe not the very best each year but everyone that has got one can play. I agree that Neale looked a bit surprised but he shouldn't feel embarrassed as he is a very very good player.
Bontempelli for mine probably had the  best year and had Daicos not got injured, he wins it.

I can add one to Jum's list....how Dipper ever won anything with the title "fairest" attached to it remains a modern day mystery.
