All at good odds but can win....

    There was no speed in race 4 (on paper) but when Willie needs the speed on, Willie gets the speed on.
     First Encounter is a really nice horse and easily the horse to beat so when the riders decide what they're going to do, why would they say "I'll run them along and make it a staying test"? Surely if you want to beat the fave you have to bludge and try to outsprint him?
     Willie is a champ and doesn't need any help but it's frustrating when they serve it up to him on a platter.

    Long overdue result at odds. 

    Forget most of those ran today. Track was very biased. Falcon could have won leading today.

    Agree Rodent. The amount of inside runs and free affairs through the field he gets is unbelievable.

    There was a clear pattern emerging early in the day that leaders had an advantage after the first 2 led all the way !! by days end 5 horses had led all the way and "outside leader" had got up and that's just my facts without looking back at the results. So "why" was the pace turned on in race 4 ? Guess maybe the ones going forward were trying to win the race ?

    Race 9. GRAHAM MORGAN 70TH BIRTHDAY HANDICAP (1600m)
    Prior to correct weight it was established that SESSWA had raced and won in blinkers which was not
    advertised as part of its approved gear for this event. Trainer D Morton was questioned by Stewards
    following the race and he advised that after conferring with his stable staff, he was under the incorrect
    assumption that the filly was racing in blinkers today and fitted such gear accordingly. This error was
    not detected as part of the pre-race gear and equipment checks prior to the race. Stewards reinforced
    with the official responsible for the checking of gear prior to each race that the appropriate systems
    are in place to ensure that all gear being worn is verified as correct in the parade area prior to the
    horses entering the track. Trainer Mr Morton was advised that as the filly won today with blinkers on it
    must continue to race with this piece of gear for its immediate future starts. Mr Morton pleaded guilty
    to a charge under AR106 for negligence in fitting blinkers to SESSWAR which was not part of its
    approved gear. Mr Morton was fined the sum of $500. When assessing penalty, Stewards considered
    his guilty plea, prior record good under this rule, that his error was due to an act of negligence and
    was unintentional, and the seriousness of the breach as it is imperative that all runners compete in
    their approved gear at all times.

    I think you will find the winner is far too good for them in that class and will go on ....the beaten brigade are limited

    Yes pure incompetence a miserable $500 fine as well amateur hour.
    As another question was raised are spurs permitted in WA and are they shown in gear changes?

    Ok thanks Manchild that is the sort of information that mounting yard mail from Britney and co that could be passed onto the desperates.
    Is there any particular jockeys in Perth that use them regularly? in Sydney Avdulla was using them and getting improvement when he went on as you would expect.

    Interesting if you read the stewards report for race 6. And I quote "The start of this race was delayed by approximately 2 minutes when RWWA staff detected as part of their routine pre-race gear checks, that the riders gel pad was missing from BARAMAGIC which required the gelding to be resaddled with the inclusion of this piece of gear. Where is the "gel pad" to start with ? Bloody hell the blinkers are fair and square in the middle of the horses face and were seen by Stevie Wonder from the USA
