R1 Goddess Of Giving they tried over a bit longer last campaign but I think she will rellish being back to the short trips.

R3 Cold Shizzle to jump out of the ground given how well the stable is going.

R4 I'm a massive Hammermill fan so will have a few dollars on him, right up his alley if the track plays like it did mid week.

R5 Comic Hero to appreciate more galloping room.

R6 Vast Art hard to beat but will be backing The Spruiker 1by4 style after its big last start effort.

R7 Aztec Ruler a touch of class.

    R8 No9 Secret Attraction-bloodlines to shine through

R9 Colossal to never look like losing.

    Simples.

The racing is hard to get consistency with the bunch of pensions masquerading as jockeys. A better name for most of them would be horse chaperones.

Add to that the standards of horse loading that means half the card is not in the main broadcast station as they regularly takes an extra 3 minutes to load a 8 horse field every other race!!!

Can they not train the barrier staff
And then pay them good mainly to stay??? Is it really this hard over this many years to load horse??

Can we start fining trainers for Holding up barrier loading with horse that won’t load??

And Darren refusing to talk or acknowledge that Sky exist is probably more than half the reason we get treated like second class citizens!!!

It is pathetic…..for the 20th year in a row!!!!

Okay. Back into my shelter for another 5 years.

Okay. Back into my shelter for another 5 years.

    Today

    Average by race lateness

    Melb: 88.6 seconds

    Syd: 54.3 seconds

    Perth: 41.2 seconds

Melb had 4 races start later than Perths worst. 290 secs, 161 secs, 93 sec, 87 secs to Perths worst at 74 seconds

it happens, Perth is small fry and will always get a raw deal, particularly whilst SKY look like they employ people with not a clue on horse racing

not saying this is the norm just highlighting it happens

    Meat pie. Seriously???

It’s not.a stara issue. It’s anPERRH racing issue. As a small fry you have to be on your game. Perth Racinh isn’t and never have been.

Darren has proven over many years he won’t tolerate Sky’s crap…Wow that’s done wonders for us!?!?!

If we were 10 seconds late a race we wouldn’t get booted. It’s really simple. And has been for years. And we still don’t address it as we quote figures like yours above and tell ourselves “we’re actually doing a good job”

And our races are still being dropped. PR needs to stand up, tell us that no matter what our average delay start time is, having 1 race a meet isn’t acceptable.

If you times all trainers in a race $1000 for every race that got dropped for loading delays….I got a feeling we’d have better mannered horses. An I do mean every trainer irrespective if it is their horse or not. The industry would clean their 5hite up very quickly.

But no one at PR or RWWA believe it’s a real issue. So no real resolution will ever be sought, let alone enforced…

With such a small pool of horses this state should be a leading example of what racing in Aus is about. Not the pathetic excuse for racing it’s sunk to over the past 30 years.

Anyway. Personally averages are over rated. You’re either good or bad. And 1
Race a meet getting dropped is 1 too many.

Heading back in to my cave for another few years. Thanks for the reply. Even though it supplied no thoughts on how to stop races being dropped.

WA Racing is doing fantastic. Bring back Ted, he knows how to fix things!!

Rio you are living in Lala land.  It is IMPOSSIBLE to load on time every time.  We are talking half ton animals that don’t always do what you want them to.  The averages is an important stat as it proves no one can start on time again because it’s IMPOSSIBLE.

What do you suggest if a horse gets to the gates and it has pulled a shoe?  Scratch it so the others can start on time?  No vet checks, if it’s required scratch as it will mean 45 second late start?  One goes off in the gates and gets cast?  Just open them on time so we don’t get bumped to sky 2 and let the horse on the ground sort itself out?  These are regular occurrences that result in say a 1 minute delay that most would think are unavoidable but you seem to think it is avoidable.

In regards to caller not talking to fill the void on Sky, I’ve never noticed that but if it’s an issue it needs to be rectified and if that means a new caller then that’s what they should do

The problem is Syd and Bris both have the deals that get them minimum lead up times on Sky 1 (think it's 3mins) so you get inside that time you're cooked.

Yep sometimes it's frustrating watching them looking at each other not loading a horse and we've basically hit start time but other times they try doing the right thing, hold for somewhere else and then get bumped anyhow.

Plus whoever runs sky nowadays has zero feel for what punters want IMO.

its a sorry state of affairs when our racing is completely dominated by 3 riders..pike, cjp and chris p.

Precision. You can make up all the old excuses. They have a 40secind window to be loaded.

If they are loaded in that window the isn’t a problem. As a minnow of an industry with our main connection to Sky continually ignoring them, we get ZERO leeway.

Get them on time. Get them off on time and get them seen by the biggest national audience.

Only rocket science if you work for PR or RWWA!!

i saw races where they hadnt even started loading by start time.
its not surprising we get bumped a lot. sometimes its unjustified I reckon (jumping about 20-30 secs late)... but other times you wonder why they are so late to even start loading.
