Reckon the kid Dhurun did well to possie up outside the likely leader R1, had he not pushed up to breeze(and post CP deep in the process)I don't think he wins from even a pair back.

Similar problem may occur later for Ponty trying to get past the frontrunners as he has to go back i reckon.They would need to go mighty quick for City Angel to gun them down, consequently it is on the drift to $4.

Well I think if it leads..it will do too much work and get rolled late by a squib :D

Either way bullet dodged gave a good sight just did a bit too much, i assume Raikura finished a mile back.

Is it just me or does the grass look a bit sparse at Belmont? Maybe getting ready to sow in some fresh Rye for the winter?

Some big margins first to last most races suggesting some horses arent having a great day out there.

Jimmy that’s due to the fact that even without any obvious unforeseen circumstances that we are not privileged to they still can’t get them loaded on time. I am sure yesterday I saw them loading a horse into the machine only to have it turned away and another runner put in that barrier. ( there was only the 2 runners not in the barrier. Think it’s about time someone’s position or positions is looked at . I would like to see the percentage of our races that don’t start on time due to being our fault. And thus having them bumped to sky 2

In fairness there were at least 2 races today where the delay was caused by "escaped" horses.

try leaving the mounting yard a few minutes earlier..easy...but too hard for those muppets.

I think we are all frustrated when we are bumped and the escaped horses are no one’s fault when that happens. But Falcons comments are so simplistic. To say load earlier is ridiculous, what if it all goes smoothly amd the last horse is in 90 seconds before official jump time. Just make them wait in the stalls for 90 seconds? What could go wrong.

Unruley horses, thrown shoes, slipped saddles will always happen, to jump on time every time is a genuine impossibility. Not saying they couldn’t at times do better but to just have simplistic comments like leave the mounting yard earlier or start loading earlier is so far from a solution

There is a QLD Saturday metro race scheduled 4 minutes after the Perth Saturday metro race every week. As long as this continues, we will be bumped to Sky 2 just about every race, because when it gets to within 3 minutes, we're done.
How on earth this continues to be the case, i don't know. Surely it can be sorted.
With the above being the scenario, there's virtually nothing the barrier staff etc can do.

Completely agree and often they then jump late. The reason is obvious, racing QLD are paying Sky to get a 3min lead in for their races. Surely we need to throw some cash around to ensure we get some better treatment from sky? Other option is to approach racing.com/channel 7

I bet if betting was halted at start time, they wouldn't be as tardy. Getting bumped off SKY1 isn't ideal but with delays, turnover increases. Without the extra turnover there would only be a downside and something would be done about it.

I'm not advocating this of course.
