R1- FINAL SERIES has strung together two nice wins since being ridden forward. Those two wins have also been since he was dropped back to midweek grade but what he has done suggests he’ll measure up in Saturday grade. He actually hasn’t put in a bad run at five starts to date but the way he exploded away from Miss Drakova two back and fight hard from the breeze last start has been impressive. Strikes a small field with no speed over 1400 as a more race fit horse than others in the market and races like the wet track will suit. Nice race for him.

R2- SAFETY BAY is a two time winner in these Westspeed Platinum races and finds another nice one for her here. Matched motors with Snipillicious first up over 1000m the whole way up the straight in a high rating race behind Premium Choice before dead heating with Gates Of Babylon last start beating home two subsequent winners. Can bounce out here to hold the leaders back and from there will just need a gap at the right time.

R3- SNIPAROOCHY was really good last start back to 1200 and back to her own age group. The stable have been attempting to ride her with a sit this campaign but her best run this time in was still three back when braining Speed Dream and Harmika from the breeze. Up to 1300 in a race with no speed and with Holly Watson on board expect they take their medicine and come out with intent. She beat a better field than this last start with authority and gets in with similar weight.

R4- Beat Bet: BUZZOOM is a filly returning from cardiac arrhythmia so ignore the fail last start. For whatever reason horses returning from arrhythmias seem to go really well and her trial a month ago was a classic Dan Morton quiet. Had the earmuffs on and he never moved behind Rokanori and Searchin’ Roc’s. Her first two runs this prep were super winning in this grade first up no trial before running second to Amasenus in the Marjorie Charleson beating Flirtini. Convinced she beats ANGELIC MISS and BRIGHT DIAMOND if they met in the summer F&M series and is almost three times the price. Good bet.

R5- MOJO RHYTHM looks like he wants a staying trip and should be ready for it after three mile runs. Beat the older horses in this grade three back before coming from last again for fourth behind Atlantis Beach. Came back to 3yo grade last start and just wasn’t brilliant enough with 60kg behind a couple of nice fillies in Zephyra and THE VELVET QUEEN who he does meet again here. Drops 3.5kg back against the older horses and feel the staying trip will allow him to show his best. Looks a three wide line race and that looks perfect for him from a wide gate.

R6- CHARMING BELLE was a complete forgive run last week against a good 3yo field. They crawled for a 1000m dash and she got keener than she did in a 1200m maiden first up and pulled her way to three deep on speed. She wasn’t beaten that far as a result of the tempo but she couldn’t let down like her opposition under the circumstances. Back to 1200 here in a race that should be run at an even tempo will suit her tremendously. There looks a spot for her midfield from the gate and if she can let rip like in her maiden she looks a little more progressive than this.

R7- IT’SARAYDAY is a good horse who can be forgiven for one bad run. His trial was super. His first up run was brilliant and rated through the roof but showed he probably had some improvement in him. Last start nothing really went right and he pulled up with excuses and with Hardly Ever bouncing back nicely after the same issue on the same day happy to trust Miller has him right here. Not sure where they ride him but again trust the stable can make the right decision.

R8- GOD HAS CHOSEN beat them and beat them well last start at his first crack at WFA. Copped a big whack from the handicapper that really hurts his Railway chances which is disappointing as one of WA’s more exciting horses. However at present time the performance sees him a short priced favourite in another G3. His best performances have been in fast run races which he won’t get here but he should still get an even tempo and looks like he can sit a bit closer here up to the mile.

R9- SAVANIK looks to have a bit better this time in. Was a really nice trial behind subsequent winner Mahaleo without the blinkers and went around a big price first up. Just wasn’t quite able to get over a race fit FEATHERWEIGHT who got all the favours. Meets him again here but with a weight swing in her favour and looks like potentially stalking him in run. Just needs to take that natural improvement to go that bit closer.

Especially early with Train on ironically the Fred train in R2.
Two live chances again for the man in form(in June 12 starters for 5 winners).

Quite keen on a bit of four play.

R5 Aragain down in class is a best bet
R6 Arracity also down in class is each way all day
R8 Kaptain Kaos last run too ordinary to be true so is another each way
R9 Seberate is another best bet

Nothing wrong with the ride, if he won we would have said ride of the year, but because it got beat we are suspicious ? IMO the horse had pretty much "Every possible chance" barring a small block in the straight

Well done for sticking Slip with Kaptain.  I never. They are simply too hard for me. Be interesting if they go for a change of jockey on Fashion Queen next start.

I beg to differ why was he back 2nd or 3rd last in a race with not much speed on paper, the race leader who is not a noted miler got beaten under a length. If Clint possies up even 1 pair closer in the run..it wins imo.

It has settled last or near last at its last couple, guessing he was happy enough to settle where he did at 2 previous wins

Cheers Swooper on at 20s. My other selections were unlucky. Aragain obviously second. Arracity trapped wide and close 5th and Seberate didn't have best of runs and should have finished a lot closer.

Regarding the ride on God by Clint. He was in trouble last run and was 'let' out of bother by another jockey Parnham from memory  but today he was not awarded the same benevolence by O'Donnell who kept his own path before Porter had to shoulder his way out.

Rawiller thought he was riding a yoyo up-- back --in-- out
All in front of GHC his actions contributed to Porter to having to revert to riding for luck as by the time they had got to 600m---Rawiller was 4 wide going to take him nowhere he would finished in carpark if he attempted to go 5 wide.

Deserved a better fate couldn't fault the ride. The backers of Captain Chaos can thank Chris Parnham has a left hand because he was thinking of boring in.Chris straight at him with the left

Is it just me? Stats aren't too bad and was okay in Victoria but having witnessed certain rides here I don't rate him

Disagree. The Captain was good enough to win. Left hand or right hand..what a wank..  So to speak.. Jocks should be able to do both. Don't diminish the effort and indeed thank Shaun O'Donnell for legitimately holding in the Clit

No mention of Captain Chaos not good enough to win had it in my Quaddie----The point being as it starts to hang in Chris is ready with the left-hand where's purely a right-handed jock would have had to stop riding and straighten then try and go again. The horse that he initially bored in on was all out Black Shadow so the incident became minor.
Just read stewards report regards Johnston porter's ride exactly As I seen it---- plus they mention Captain Chaos layed inwards.

No dramas Saver. Your comment has definite creedence but my comment in reply was based on the fact I believe SOD should get more thanks for what he did.

Your explanation of the left hand right hand is appreciated

Im amazed that no one picked that Notorious One was hanging in badly, even the stewards.
O'donnell was trying to bring the horse to the outside of K.Kaos to no avail, as he kept laying in behind him, thus laying all over God Has Chosen .
It was only when CJP buffetted his way into the clear on God Has Chosen and bumped Notorious One that he got to the outside line of KK, only to run in again behind KK and God Has Chosen when that horse cleared him.
Odonnell had to stop riding and  grab the right rein on 2 or 3 occassions in the run to the line as the horse continued to lay in
Feel this horse has a huge motor and  would match any of his opposition on ability but can bring himself undone by his waywardness.
Pretty sure Odonnell wasnt worried about holding CJP  in ,more so keeping his horse straight..
Definitely not a easy horse to ride.

I'm with you, have always rated him highly ability wise but has numerous tractability issues, if he ever put it all together is in the top few we have here.
Few jocks have changed tack from riding him I think, connection's should chase Ponty to have a steer...
