Melb ( barring terrible injuries ) are an absolute stone cold certainty

You can raffle the rest - Bris im not convinced at all - logical reasons - they couldnt beat Haw or Geel - and Lions have bombed out in recent finals series - some in straight sets

I agree with VK - the only team with a flukers hope of beating Melb is Rich -  they are past their best - however they have the recent flags - and the home ground at the MCG playing 12-13 games their a year cant be emphasised enough - and if they somehow got in the GF - and if Martin wins his what his 4th Norm Smith Medal - they could pull off a massive upset

The media successfully went the early crow on the dockers two weeks ago... and they sh*t the bed the last two weeks.

The next one is Carlton... this week they're calling them premiership material. From what I have seen, they are far from it. Not even close to the dees and cant play more than a half of footy.

Won 8 games playing a half of footy, work in progress,be scary when they do 8-X

What is with players after a goal they all play "handy's" and hugs and ass tapping - could be the first goal of the match, a goal when you are miles behind or whatever. They still do it - just infantile. Have a look at replays when football was football - a forward kicks a goal and might get a thumbs up from a team mate or two. Afterall, it is a forward's job to kick goals - but then they play handy's, high fives, handshakes, hair ruffled, pats on the back and bum, hugs and kisses, then watch the replay on screen as they are then invariably running off the ground for an interchange swap.  Grow up Boys. Or is it all part of inclusiveness and re-assurance?? FFS

Pretty sure they are coached to do it.

Showponies, i didnt like the look of the young bloke Ginnivan last week pumping his fist in the air as he ran in to kick a goal, not on. and i believe the coach has spoken to him about this sort of thing a few weeks back.
  • freodockersfreodockers    2,667 posts
He is a repeat offender Hendo.
Switkowski got two weeks for chicken wing but if you have a look at the blatant duck (for high contact) before the incident you can see why kowski did what he did. Richmond player also fell fowl of similar tactics couple of weeks ago. In no way am I supporting kowskis reaction but the AFL and umpires need to clamp down on the ducking and sort him out.

Totally agree FD, just a young fella who will learn a few lessons with a thud very soon i suspect.

Shuey and Sellwood have got away with the ducking caper for years. Sonny Walters tries it to but rarely gets a free kick.

Not sure we should be seeking to take the flair away from a player with undoubted ability. We have enough robots now.

And it ruined Sonny Walters as a player.
He spent more time trying to get a free kick than using his natural ability/flair to get the ball.
Switkowski was suspended for potential to cause another player serious injury. What is the difference between what he did and deliberately ducking your head to attract head high contact. What happens when someone knocks him out because he ducks his head again.
Potentially causing an injury to yourself to gain a free kick should never be rewarded.

6 minutes to go in the third quarter and the Dorkers hit the front.

Win, Lose or Draw this particular game, it doesn't matter. They have shown today why they should and deserve to be in the finals this year.

Fantastic effort against the best in the competition

A lot jumped off after two very disappointing games in wet conditions. Blind Freddy could have seen it was not a lack of ability or endeavour  but rather an inability to adapt to the conditions by over possessing and hand balling when kicking was the best option.

Still a long way to go but they are on the right track. Gareth Hall's two tips for the weekend were Melbourne to go through undefeated and the Dockers to miss the eight at $3.40.

Geez “dicker boys” cool the jets on your team and the coach. Lost two in a row in the wet against teams that were up for the fight. Not the end of the world. Timing not great admittedly considering who your playing in the next two weeks. But Melbourne could be vulnerable this week after 18 wins in a row. Langdon potentially out with sore ribs. Viney question mark.

Are Melbourne any good in the wet ? Not sure May and Lever are any good on the deck. Ben Brown doesn’t like to bend down either.
Might be a line job for Freo if your having a punt I reckon.

A  bit of a smart aarse type - who i had no time for whatsoever - thank goodness he went back to Victoria

And his voice ( which is very important if your a commentator ) was so irritating - he sounded like Gus Mercurio

Don’t think any of my posts suggest I am on the “dickers” band wagon.
The day that happens is the day that “hell freezes over”.
Just keep a lid on it Freo. Don’t get ahead of yourselves. Haha.
