GP because of the unfair/outdated track - trying to win their on the punt -  honestly it is like trying to pick fly shiit out of black pepper - virtually impossible

However i am having a nice run on the punt lately - backed a horse last Frid night at Broken Hill Trots at $67 ( $51 plus win boost ) and it bolted in - probably why Tab Touch didnt field fixed odds at Gawler Trots on Sunday - maybe a bit gunshy

FWIW - my best e/w bet Aust wide trots/tonight - is in the 1st race at Shepparton - horse 7 Blissfull Mind @ $11  after Win boost - its in career best form - only a field of 8 - just needs a genuine pace on - and if so i think it can win

I welcome other posters to put their best bets up

I mean we have got the former biggest bookmaker re Aust Harness Racing - plus another who is a very successful owner - and between the 2 of them - re tips - they havent given us a scrape of Boarding House Butter yet

What a joke. GP is by far the easiest track on the punt. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to do the form there.

People constantly bag GP as having leaders bias but just look at the results for ANY WA track. 6 of 9 horses won by leading at PJ on Monday, 3 of 8 at Narrogin (most came from the 1-2), 3 from 8 at NM, 4 from 8 at NGN.

Two different issues at play here.
1 GP leaders bias is real which results in boring racing.
2..Leaders bias as per Can’t Refuse post results in easy to read form which results in short priced favourites, $1.60 down.
Me I would rather bet ew on a 33/1 pop at Narrogin on a Saturday night than bet on a $1.60 fav at GP.

Race 7 Forgotten Hiway forgotten horse, best horse in field, nice run last start.

Can someone tell me what Hall was trying to achieve leaning all over rockmeover at the top of the straight.
His horse is gone and he tries to hold in a horse that’s trying to move off and gain ground resulting in his horse breaking up.
    WTF….

I am over this sport. What consequence is there for the winner? He wins $12k, we get $650 and a horse with a slashed leg. WHAT CONSEQUENCE IS THERE?!?

    Richie Bell Race 7.
“Trifecta of the night for most people”
    It paid a whopping $2.70.
That’ll get the punters flocking to GP.

paid $2.70 which tells me plenty of people got it. They did their form, got multiple units of it and now thinks how easy is this. Pockets full of dough and a heart full of hope they say to the misso “Love we are heading to GP next Friday for the time of our lives.”
Next Friday rolls around. All showered up the family jump in the car and head on down to GP as promised. With a spring in their step, they skip their way to the front gate. “One family pass!” He exclaims to the man at the front gate….. His hopes are then dashed as he finds out he needs to make a booking in a crowded restaurant to get in and can’t just stand on 200m of lawn. “F@@k this, let’s just head over to Optus with the other 30k people”

Let's compare two of the major races on either side of the country, our pacing cup was an absolute spectacle of a race hardly boring, the time honored hunter cup 24 hours later was an absolute snooze fest, yes gp is leader bias but it forces drivers to actually use some memory power on occasions which can lead to some great racing, Melton and menangle these state of the art track, it is like watching grass grow the racing on these tracks

If you want to bring the East coast racing into the argument go for it.
If you did a industry health check on each individual state ie NSW, VIC, QLD, WA ,SA and TAS.
WA would run a very very distant 4th only beating SA and TAS.
Interestingly the top two made the hard decision to sell their outdated premier facilities and inject the money back into the industry.
Have a look at how many meetings VIC and NSW run a week.
Have a look at the health of their breeding industry, their country clubs.
Have a look at their horse population, trainers, drivers the list goes on.
Might be boring racing as you put it but you would have to be blind Freddy not to see the difference.
WA and SA continue with their outdated facilities and continue to fall further behind.
Do you really think Gloucester Park will still be there in 20 years.
I personally doubt it very much.

The argument is gp creates boring racing, not the state of the industry over here compared to the eastern States, we have a ton of issues over here created by the higher ups that have helped with the decline of the industry over here but I'd be pretty safe to say the style of racing over here isn't one of those issues

Looked at Shepparton and Wagga meetings from last night. Yes, a lot of GSL and won, less so at Wagga, but far more use of PBD based on National Rating (a swear word in WA), based on LTW (assuming lifetime wins?), based on $L5, and far less RBD  than in WA. Mention PBD at a gathering of the local Gordon Gecko Society and you risk being tarred, feathered and charged with sedition.

Can anyone tell me if GP has ever been valued.
Has there ever been a study done on what return it would create for the industry if it was sold.
And please don’t bring Richmond Rsceway up.

If it was sold then hopefully racing can return to its roots and rebuild Richmond raceway
