Media jumping gun again, apparently they are trying to save her, so fingers crossed the vets can do a miracle and save here,as she would be a very valuable broodmare.????????

Yep first thing I read on twitter was she had to be euthanised.

If this proves untrue this is fantastic for her and connections, but absolutely pathetic and disgusting reporting in an attempt to be first

which media reported it? I have heard on the grapevine this morning... but no official story.

Loose lips sink ships, probably more the analogy.

But otherwise you wouldn't take a horse to the vets to be euthanised (would be done on the spot).
Getting to the vets would be the first hurdle in attempt to treat (if you can get them there you're "some" chance).

    TabRadio, via Twitter

"Clairvoyance has fractured an off hind femur at trackwork and has been taken to the vets to be euthanised"

From the Impressive Racing Facebook page:

Clairvoyance is currently resting at Ascot Equine Vets and in the best of care as she recovers from a complete fracture of the Ilium (Pelvis)
We are thankful for everyone’s assistance this morning.

thats the trouble today, everything is "instant" and everybody wants to be first, expanding and dramatising every scrap of information that could be a big story. close enough to the truth is good enough for those guys..

Hopefully she can pull through and we may one day see some of her offspring picking up where she left off. I've got everything crossed for the connections

Julio Santerelli's exact words on TAB radio this morning. Very ordinary.

They haven't even bothered to take down the original (and incorrect) tweet and have left it to others to correct.

Pretty old school me.. hence why I'm a massive fan of social media NOT.

Maybe a similar type injury sustained to the one that King's Will Dream sustained in a Cox Plate?
He recovered and even raced again so hopefully she makes a full recovery and can also produce good/talented babies.

I listened to Julio’s segment on the radio yesterday (from about 7.40am to 7.50am) and he never once mentioned the horses name. Not sure if someone else did so afterwards as i was not listening, so not sure if anyone can blame him for this
  • JayJayJayJay    8,623 posts
No, he definitely did name it and acknowledged it this morning with a conditional apology.

I got the initial voice report before Julio hit the air so i was listening out for it. He never once mentioned its name, he used a term “one of wa’s best up and coming sprinters”
He may have hopped on at a later time and said it, as mentioned before i wasnt listening then. I have gone back to check and that segment has been pulled from the tab radio website by the looks.

Anyway, doesnt matter, horse seems to be pulling through which is all that we can hope for.

Yes, he came back into the studio after his initial bit but as you say, irrelevant as the horse is of highest priority and positive reports today.

I knew a filly called Volcanic Mist who was trained at Canterbury in the 90's. She broke her pelvis. Such a shame as she was very smart. She had already bolted in at Canterbury in fast time.
She was saved and went on to produce a G1 "The Galaxy" winner, Mistegic. Hopefully Clairvoyance can do the same.

    How is Clairvoyance going @Tivers?

    As good as can be.
Upright and behaving herself (for now).
