Big pile on Twitter after a drive in the last at Bunbury last night, (not saying it was not warranted, awful drive, holiday coming you would think) , but some comments were made from the industry, which I thought was a no no by RWWA.

How can they give him time? He has done the same thing several times and never got time.

are you sure about that ?  https://www.rpat.wa.gov.au/docs/default-source/determinations/appeal-no-815---garry-maxwell-johnson.pdf?sfvrsn=0

Plus you look at the sectionals? average lead time, 30.3,30.6

His horse hung in, leader running out, they race tight, little room for error.

Probably the karma train getting the fav after his drive the week before.

Average times run being run by below average horses. How many attempts have they all had at winning a maiden?
As for the karma train comment, I think that is a bit rough on that young fella. Obviously understands his horse isn’t blessed with the greatest amount of ability. As we seen last night what can happen when drivers(GJ) don’t understand the lack of ability some horses have, to not drive them beyond their capabilities

I stand correctly, how many times has he done it since then and never got time?

All GJ had to say was that his horse began to over race or it was hitting the stirrups.
Used many times with so called professional drivers and stables.
Stewards simply cannot argue with that one as they have set the precedent.

Reading stewards report on this matter, they got it right, G J had no case to answer regarding his drive.
Horse tractability was the issue here and the horse was rightly sent back to trials.

Again we turn a blind eye, to how easily a horse and driver can be taken out of a race through no fault of their own due to these american carts.

A good who am I from Facebook.

    ⁉️⁉️ WHO AM I ⁉️⁉️
My father owned an Inter Dominion winner -- I drove 58 winners in WA -- Three of the trainers I drove winners for trained an Inter Dominion winner -- Another two trainers I drove winners for trained an Inter Dominion place getter...
I drove an Inter Dominion winning horse to its first win in WA – which horse and who am I?

Trying to fill in the bits without hitting the data bases.......Of course the horse was Jack Morris who won at Bunbury at his 2nd start in WA with Colin driving him. Ken (and Wendy) Lavin owned Preux Chevalier. The three trainers who trained an Inters winner....well obviously Sean Harney, guessing Barry Perkins and the 3rd one is.......??? And the two trainers who had Inters placegetters? Guessing Fred Kersley and Colin Joss?

Trunkey Carrawa's grandmother was a very smart mare JJ in Ferrari Trunkey.

Colin Watts had a lot of Trunkeys.. Trunkey Gold I can remember and John is somehow related to the Watts..
  • JayJayJayJay    8,623 posts
The Trunkey name originates from the Humphries family (Bob and Helen) who relocated the entire stud (with John as private trainer) to Northcliffe several decades ago and today's winner out of Nightmare Trunkey (out of Ferrari  Trunkey, dam of Trunkey Masserati etc etc) is raced by the Humphries family. Mare traces back to the U Scott mare Cele bred by by Mr Williams in Christchurch who bred and raced all those "Mighty Flying" horses (Thomas, Ideal, Mac, Major etc.) John  a son in law of the Watts family?

Good tip from Hayden King in the last at GP last night in See The World at $19. Hayden goes on and off the boil but can find a long priced winner.

Donald & Tara Harper are doing a fine job placing & racing their team of predominately young horses over the last 12 months or so. Terrific to see the hard work & long hours being rewarded.

Good of the Geelong Club tonight - race 6 honouring one of WA Great pacers

" The  Flying Brick Cider Preux  Chevalier Free For All" - 24k race

I wonder why a Vic country or regional club have got a feature race in honour of the frog - maybe it won a race their in one of its Eastern States campaigns - thats my guess
