R1- RUN D’AFFAIRE RUN is going pretty good this time in. Trialled okay, led running first up and rolled up the track in the straight and was only beaten by a smart one in Captain Burglar with 1.5L to third. Stepped straight to 1600 second up, again led running and was forced to hold English Heritage for the length of the straight, again with a space to third. Jumps a bit in class here but should find the front soft again and looks like he’ll keep improving with each run.

R2- WUHAN WARRIOR resumes having had the one career run in the Supremacy Stakes. Struggled on that occasion when unable to get near the top but his trials leading in were pretty good. His recent trial when finding the front with the blinkers on was super winning by 8L in sizzling time. From the draw he should follow NIGHTS MYSTERY across and that will see them a long way in front of their market rivals.

R3- REAL GRACE flopped first up in a Saturday 3yo race but did have excuses. Was first up in a moderately run 1300 and she over raced, got shuffled back mid stages and chopped out in the straight for good measure. Freshened back to 1200 in a 60+ where they should roll along she is worth forgiving and taking her off her trials which were great. Doesn’t have to get too far back from the middle draw and has a touch of class about her.

R4- MISS FROST has been kept fresh for her second up run and she thrives off spaced runs. Bumps into a few smart ones here but would argue her last start was tougher when only 2.5L off Nerodio, This’ll Testya and Battle Storm. Stuck wide from an outside draw on that occasion and is better suited by a low draw here which she should be able to hold a spot from. Is a listed Jungle Mist winner from last campaign.

R5- TIMELY OUTBURST is a very talented filly on the way up. Has only been beaten twice from six and they were at the hands of The Spruiker and Graceful Girl. Last start she had to work to the breeze before being run up the track in the straight by Vane Tempest who she nailed on the line. That filly won last week to make the form look good and Timely Outburst gets the same weight in the same grade after the claim for Holly Watson. May even find the fence for the first time but I’ve been saying that for a while now.

R6- COMFORT ME has really put it all together this preparation. Should almost be 3/3 when only narrowly beaten first up after tramping four deep around the bend. Two back sat deep again and still got the better of Sheza Charmer who went on to win the Belmont Guineas. Last start finally got a soft run and won with a leg in the air sprinting past the leaders off a slow tempo. Drawn wide here but in a race with little speed think he can come out positive to get across and look for cover later.

R7- SHEZA CHARMER is very hard to look past at set weights here. Meets a field mostly consisting of class one and maiden gallopers and horses she has already beaten. Of those who contested the Belmont Guineas she seems the most likely to run a strong 2000m and gets the soft draw in one to help. Despite there not looking to be a whole lot of tempo don’t think they’ll walk with a few who could set a decent tempo at the longer trip. Will just need the splits to come her way late.

R8- KERMAN ROCK is one of the few runners proven at a staying trip having placed in a WATC derby. Ran a couple of okay races in 60+ grade two and three back before a strong second to Sheza Chamer in the Belmont Guineas last start stalking a solid tempo. Should roll forward to be in the first couple of pairs from six and be ahead of most of his main rivals. From there he’ll run his typical honest race.

R9- Best Bet: PLAYING MARIKA has been going well this campaign without being right in the finish. Did all the work first up at 1400 and boxed on before getting within 3L of Leading Girl and Naughty By Nature second up in 72+ grade. Two back sat back and wide off a crawl and never got into the race before putting it to The Spruiker and Bright Diamond last week back into 66+ grade. Loves the back up, prefers good ground and can run a big race if she can find some cover midfield or better.
