The AFL would love a Brisbane Port GF.
Get some marketing and TV revenue back into the game.

As much as I would like to see that GF take place, I am sure the afl would prefer a Richmond vs Brisbane GF actually.
Brisbane in to make sure the Gabba is sold out and Richmond/Geelong for the TV ratings back in to Vic especially.

    Flippant being the operative word.

Hey Chariots - put your bookmaker hat on for a minute

Interested to know if you were framing a market as an independent bookmaker ( forget what the betting agencies are doing etc  ) for this years flag - what would your fictional market be

And which team if any would you like to write a stack of tickets   - ie lay

Have you seen the crowds so far at the finals games in QLD not involving Brisbane?
I am sure if it is a Richmond vs Geelong or Port vs Geelong GF the afl will be giving away plenty of free tickets although they will probably give out more to the corporates knowing them.

Rarely bet on AFL Marko. Season betting and even match betting takes too long to decide for me. I look for quicker gratification.

Read or heard today that Jordan Clark potentially would entertain coming back home to Perth.
Eagles should jump at the chance to get him.
He is a gun and reckon he would fit in beautifully on the half back line.
Give Geelong Jackson Nelson, Tom Cole and a 3rd round draft pick and let’s get it done.

Pick 15 2018 national draft. W.A boy Claremont colts.
Had a great 1st year. Didn’t play much this year.
To me he would be ideal and have 12 good years in front of him.

Thanks....both the guys you nominate Deto are great role players for the team. With Gov and Barrass around for a few years I don't think now would be the right time to move them on for another bitl player and they still have a few good sized defenders in the system to give extended opportunities to.

Having said that I reckon they'd need to be drafting with the defence in mind. Schofield and Jetta most probably this year, potentially Hurn next year, leaves opportunities for the fringe players to secure a spot and then of course you need to have that new blood in the background getting used to game plans and al the other 5hit they have to learn theses days

I got a feeling Geelong sowed him up to the end of 2022, to get him locked into the Harry Taylor replacement...injury prone for a young fella, and looks like he needs another year or so to build his strength. Then may cost as much as a Tim Kelly.... Heaps of talent there

Hear what your saying with Cole and Nelson Rio. I threw them up as trade bait for Clark but could be other players.
Cole had his role changed this year to be more attacking off half back. Kicked a few goals and was that man who was the last Eagle to handle the ball in the last play against Collingwood.
Says to me that the coach wants a running half back and Clark fits that mould. He has a touch of class about him that Cole and Nelson unfortunately don’t have.

Watched both coaches C.Scott and C.Fagan entire pressers after the game. Both very good orators. G .Fagan especially strikes me as a exemplary bloke. Richmond for mine

Interesting thought RIO, as the Bears didn’t concern me at all.
Geelong I’m not sure, but confident we would have trounced the Bears.

P.s, I guess that thought those arrogant Vic based teams a lesson hey......

That was part of the reason I though the bears would take it out. They had been going well and the home ground and accommodation situation at the end of a unique season would have driven them further... May have been a misjudgement that it assisted them to do better this year than most expected.

Geelong have seemed to cruise all season and I didn't think it'd be enough. If allowed to,play their game next week, I reckon it'll get ugly.

Both teams deserve to be there. Hope it's a 5 point game

Tigers for me. Perfect tough lead in game in hostile territory.
Geelong may be happy they got the prelim monkey off their back.
Richmonds pressure game will suffocate Geelong and Ablett & co won’t get the latitude the likes of Rich gave them.

Well done to ex Docker Lachie Neale winning the Brownlow.
No way he would have won it if he was still being coached by “Ross the Boss”. Ouch !!!
Has there ever been a Brownlow winner that has straight up thanked the umpires for their win ?
After all, they do give the votes.
    :-?

Fremantle Dockers appear to be getting their shite together.
Matthew Boyd on the surface looks to be a great appointment.
Flicking Jesse Hogan another great move.
    Freo destination club I reckon.
Only downside in my opinion is where they train. The industrial hinterland of Kwinana. Lol ouch !!!

They started looking better with the new CEO... Thren better again with the new coach... Now those type of appointments are finally starting to influence the club.

Great decision by me to cash out my bet on Richmond when Geelong were 22pts up in the 2nd qtr.
Didn’t count on that Geelong soft underbelly which reared its head in the last game of the year.
But don’t worry Cats fans. Jeremy Cameron will help get rid of that soft underbelly.......perhaps not.
