Glad I didn't bet. Saved my money. Would of had Star Exhibit (ran 4th).

What a farce of a race. Most boring Perth cup ever. Should increase prize money to $2m by reducing the railway stakes and Winterbottom. Make the distance back to 3200m.

58kg top weight, 53 the rest. Even the handicapper gave up.

Pike is a genius but things out of his control go his way a lot. He's back in a slowly run race and Kyra takes off on a 300-1 pop to put the race on for him.

If you were on Taxagano you’d be pissed at Kyra Yuill.

Bob is a big fish in a small pond. Good owner and successful bit that's it. We all know where the big races are in Australia and we know that none of them are in WA.

Bob was asked after Regal Power was scratched who his best chance was in the cup.He said Mississippi Delta.

Hahaha that's funny para... as Rodent said Plays The Game made it for the fave and killed Taxagano, was a dawdle until then though.

Did I see Missile Launch three wide without cover for a fair way - need to watch replay - he surprised me one hell of a lot , terrific run.

True Detonator, but by same token he had three in the race and the one he liked was the fave.

Didn't actually have to think "outside the square". But yep winners are grinners just the same. Think what he knew was that no Regal Power and it still won't stop us. Good effort Star Exhibit too.

Brad Parnham could have let her go rather than kick up inside her

He is amazing, when saw her stone last, even though thought something from the back can now win ( after Plays The Game put the accelerators on), didn't expect her to pick them up so easy.

A nice little pipe opener in the CB Cox Stakes, where Star Exhibit looked the better run.

After watching replay a couple of times - and worth seeing - best runs outside of first four home -

Desperately unlucky Spiritual Warrior caught up badly behind the tiring Royal Command, would've gone close with a clear run, and if a fraction closer, finished hard and full of running.

Going well Arctic Stream- that was a great effort.

Also flashing home late - with little luck - Friar Fox.

First four home all terrific, and take nothing away from them - unlucky Spiritual Warrior, Friar Fox and nice run Arctic Stream.

doesn't help when 90% of forum contributors and the discussion is based in WA!
just look at the impact he had in The Everest... the races he's winning over here might not be big compared to e/s standards but he has the pull and the bankroll to be a serious player anywhere he chooses to race his horses

Yes he has the money/bankroll to race his horses anywhere in Australia. A pity he doesn't have that much success outside WA. Fact is that WA racing is a small pond. The big fish are in the eastern states. I look at things on a national level. Yes he has been successful, yes I like him, but the fact is there isn't much competition in WA. It's him...and him only. Just my opinion.

If was in the one out line and gets to the outside, as impressive as Missisippi Delta was, Spiritual Warrior reckon goes very close.

Of all the horses to get caught up behind - Royal Command, it was gonski.

In saying that if Taxagano doesn't get hammered by the bolter he goes close.

I underestimated Missile Launch badly - three wide and pulled a fraction early - great effort.

Star Exhibit he was grand. Finished off well.

Friar Fox - if a few things go right - Steve Parnham nearly pulls another rabbit out of a hat ( more animals hash ) it was dead unlucky.

Um the winner - well she came from stone motherless last - it wasn't bad either.

Judging by comments on facebook and twitter it seems nobody is really happy for bob winning no 9. A few people shaking their heads asking where the f is this industry going. For every 1 owner owners only pulls in, they are losing 15 that do their ass because they are unable to compete..... i dont blame them.

Brad Parnham very scathing towards Plays the Game and Kyra Yuills tactics. Heat of the moment stuff.

As far as the roughie taking off early - that was a fairly regular occurrence with big roughies many years ago, sometimes two or three would go up and pour the speed on, happens less often now.

Good run Plays The Game too - only gave it away last 100 metres.
  • thefalconthefalcon    20,483 posts
if that race was over 3200m you would have needed 13 vets at the finish...

Was thinking the same bloody thing, don't worry about that, so much so nearly lost concentration on the race too busy watching it!

I realise Taxagano punters livid - don't blame them I'd be fuming too, Brad Parnham every right to be scathing.

However and not taking sides, that early pace was a fair dinkum joke, going at a slower pace than the walking Towton Cup...so got no problems with the speed going on...should happen more often and a pity it doesn't.

If Brad Parnham got away with that and led all the way all punters who didn't back Taxagano would be up in arms and rightly so.

Keep coming back that the winner came from dead last, it was pretty good on the day.
